I'm serious (and I know I keep banging on about this)
Put the battle droid chassis in by all means but limit them to the 'combat modules' that we are getting for existing droids (i.e. CL10) and call them decomission ex-military chassis. The an enterprising DE can go and put some combat capability back into them (as well as use the chassis for 'normal' droids).
Give us the kind of customisation that BEs get (butcapped atCL10) with HAM, allow us to integrate weapon and armoursmith parts to modify offence and defence stats on the 'combat chassis'
Give us a default personality chip, put personality sockets back in all chassis and require the personality to be reprogrammed (with a good chance of screwing the chip up) in order to make it able to kill beings (yes I mean NPCs too)then retrofit these changes to the Probot and DZ70 schematics.
Battle droids arent commonplace in the timeframe and this is an aweful lot of agro over something that IMO we could well do without (every man and his brother with a Droideka)

Here here. Droid engineer could be a great profession if time and attention were paid to making the droids we have now usable. Fix our bugs, give us experimentation, turn our protocol droids into barkers and extractor information sources, allow power droids to power extractors and factories etc, allow de's to have 2 droids out at once. Give us our profession before you go ripping it in half.

Not that I personally give the star system much value but if you disagree with me enough to vote this down at least have the decency to post why you disagree with me.......
