Ok I am a newb to droids.
I had a repair droid made with 40% armor and a single repair module, it has no command for attack or guard, and does not have an attack rating.
I am guesing I had it made wrong for tanking purposes, I don't need it to do damage just hold the mob while I take them down.
Can I still use this guy, or do I need to have a new one made. If so, what should I ask for in a Tank droid?

Do you know if at least one combat module was installed into the cluster that was used? They give the combat ability to droids and therefore the attack command.

I would guess that if it doesn't show an attack rating then you need a different droid.
I would get an R3 with 5 auto repairs and 1 combat module. Stick some big armour on it and you're there.
It should be able to attack and hold mobs for you, whilst repairing itself. Whilst I can't confirm for myself, you might even be able to have a probot without any combat mods at all, since they have inherent combat ability. I think this means they only do 1 damage, which is great for tanking.

Yeah you will need a new droid it must have one combat module in it. So you will want a LE ADV with one combat and one or two auto repair modules.

Don't probots have inherant combat ability? Couldn't you make a probot with5 repair modules, 1 shield module and that's it? I've not tried yet.

a Probot's HAM isn't as good as an Advanced R3

But yes, probots have an inherit combat ability (w/o combat modules, they only do 1 point of damage though). A probot with five auto-repair modules is the perfect non-xp stealing tank.
