Thread: wanna be de needs a quick answer
If you intend to make a living as a DE, you *need* Master Artisan components, even for the first really saleable item we get, the Seeker Droid. I took M.A. before approaching DE, and I've never been sorry about that.
If you are going to grind through, then I guess order does not matter, as you don't really require the components for the grind, just for making any actually salable items.
you don't NEED master artisan but it helps. Also you wont need the master artisan parts till AFTER novice DE etc.. (unless you wanna make customization kits) I dont think you start needed the master artisan parts till you can make some more advanced droids..
I would reccomend getting it if you dont have a lot of money and dont like waitin on other people.
Not sure. I'm fairly new myself. I'm a DE 0/0/0/1 andArtisan 4/4/4/4. I got Novice DE first, but it probably depends on what you want to do.
My guess would be that if you really are interested in Master DE as a goal, it might make sense to go with Novice DE first so you can start grinding the Mouse droids at the earliest opportunity. The mouse droids don't require any Master Artisan components and are quite cheap to grind.
Might as well get started on that as soon as possible IMO.

That is true Rho, but you don't need any of the MA components until you've grinded 48k worth of mouse droids. It makes sense to me to get to Novice DE first so you can get a head start on all that Droid Crafting XP, and work on finishing up Master Artisan in parallel.
Don't forget, that now, since mineral extractors give you general crafting xp (as I suspect they maybe did not when you were working on MA), it's really quite easy to grind up the first three artisan tracks, to 4/4/4/*. The only one that takes a while is Surveying (unless you sit around a lot), and there will be need for practicing surveying while working on that first 48k of droid crafting XP. So I still think Novice DE first makes sense. And then try to grind things so you hit the 48k droid crafting XP mark and the Master Artisan mark at about the same time.
Oh, and I would like to point out (not to you, but more generally) that I didn't say you need Master Artisan, but that you need Master Artisan components... For many, many of us, these work out to the same thing, but there are some DEs who are able to secure supplies of the needed modules from others.
