Thread: Jawas refuse to steal my droids...

I was running around tatooine playing with my new combat skills and realised that after getting just novice in an elite combat profession my probot was obsolete. So rather than curse someone else with it I left it near the Jawa Fortress figuring they would promptly snatch it up and cart if off in thier sand crawler. Well I got about 200m away when some lil Jawa runs up behind me and is like "He mister, you forgot your droid."

I was dumb founded. Apparently this Jawa was a 0/0/1/0 Pistoleer and had no use for it either. So, realising even Jawas wouldn't take the poor bot I just took him back to my house and made a nice plant holder out of him.

But seriously, now that I'm moving into a new combat proffesion, i see why people talk down even about the probot. Its not that its totally usless but once you are even a novice elite profesion they become just something putting a dent in your xp. They come in handy for pulling or tanking an add, but really can't handle most stuff you can even solo at novice pikeman.

When I was running the Jabba missions, there was one where you can actually attack the Jawas, so I sent in my trusty probot. They didn't even shoot him with their Ion Rifle to disable them, which is why I slaughtered them.

I still use my probot for a tank. It doesnt do enough damage to take many points from me, but saves wear and tear on my armor and me. And if the creatures like to gankfest, then he can occupy them tillI get away.

Grouping with a probot actually increases the combat xp you get. You do most of the damage, and therefore get most of the xp, then you get the group xp bonus, so you'll end up getting more xp fighting with a probot than you would solo.

I've noticed this too. However, I also noticed that I pull lower-level missions when my probot is grouped with me than I would otherwise. I'm a 1/2/2/2 fencer, and alone I tend to pull level-19 missions or so. Group with my trusty metal sidekick, and it goes down to around 16.

So I ungroup to get the missions, then group back up and head out. It does a pretty good job of providing cover fire for a melee fighter such as myself, and provides a decent distraction when I have more than one MOB to deal with.

Checking your spelling (and punctuation, too) will ensure that you're making sense to more than two people.

When I'm out killing pickets or quenkers, I'm grouped with my advanced power droid. LOL

Rating of 1 means it lowers my con so I get more xp.
Grouping with it means I get more xp from it.

Ironically the first ever droid I built (an MSE droid) was killed by a jawa and his ion rifle. Was at the time very early on when all droids had the attack command anpermadeath was in effect. I thought that a very fitting start to the DE profession.

It is hilarious that Jawas won't steal our droids. Not only that, but Ewokscompletely ignoreour shiny golden Protocol droids. I guess that is to keep consistent with the general ignoring of Droids and the DE in the game. One of these days, maybe...

As a Master Swordsman,Probots have about a 10% chance of holding aggro on a mob. Basically, once I enter the fray, the droidisn't doing the tanking anymore. If I bleed something down to 1 mind, but lose the fight, and for whatever reason they don't deathblow me in the air before I hit the ground, my probot will finish them off. Is that worth it? Meh. Sometimes.

The usefulness of our droids is often underestimated, but they are also sometimes overestimated. It usually isn't worth the battery power for me to pull mine out, because I am fairly efficient at killing anything that my Probot would have a chance of helping me with. If Ineed help, I usually need a full-time medic and / or a group of combatants. As a rule of thumb, if the droid doesn't last long enough for me to kill two enemies out of three, it isn't pulling its weight. And as a rule of thumb, for missions that I take, it doesn't.

So if we can't have useful droids, why not make NPC's react to them? At least that way we could have some fun with them.

I tried this with my Advanced Protocol. The minute he got aggroed because he was grouped with me, he headed for the hills. I had to store him from the datapad, because he took off so fast he dropped off my radar before I finished killing the Nuna!

Primary reason for fighting alongside a Probot or ANY droid:

I will phouquing DIE before I get a creature pet.

Why? Two reasons:

1) They don't belong in the game.

2) Only phaggots* and sailors get creature pets.

Fair enough. I hereby publicly offer my apologies to the transgender community for implying an association between any members of said community and creature pets. I also apologize to R. Lee Ermie for unauthorized use of his characterization of Gunny Hartman referring to homosexuals as being associated with creature pets. I also apologize to the Ancient Egyptians for the unauthorized use of the word "phaggot" in reference to homosexuals being associated with creature pets.

Oh, and I apologized to SOE for having to now ask them to kiss my back-cheeks.

i guess if jawas and ewoks did steel droids it would make for better sales for DE's

and after a while the ewoks would get a bit suspicious as to why they had so many gods just piled up on floating chairs in their tree houses.

there is a cool place on tatooine where u can get an unlimited supply of easy to blow up droids. only r5 type things but they make a great thud when they hit the floor, and are really **edit** fast little things if you dont get them with the 1st shot u will havea good chase on your hands.
