Thread: how do u dicide on prices?
The simplest way is to just add up all of the resources you use to make the droid (don't forget the subcomponents, either, and don't forget the cost in maintenance and power of the factory if you use one of those, too) and then multiply by some number that you determine gives you a reasonable return based on your cost for those resources.
I have inched my prices up to about 10 CPU now because the resources I'm using to make my droids would sell by themselves for that amount. I mine my own resources, so over time my supply gets better and better. I only use the "bad" stuff to make droids right now since quality is nearly irrelevant, but my "bad" stuff includes Picami copper and Gioptiheide Polymer. There was a time when both of those were the best resources of their type that we'd ever seen, and now they're my "old junk".
On top of a base CPU price, you also need to factor in your own time and effort. Furthermore, you should factor in the abilities of the droid you're selling. One equipped with Crafting Stations is more valuable than just base CPU because that customer will never need to buy another one. (Many will buy another one anyway, but they don't need to so you have to price accordingly.) I charge 5k per crafting station for this reason.
The cheapest Droid I sell is a Repair Mouse for 6k, and no one has ever asked for one. The most expensive Droid I sell is an R3 loaded up with everything it can hold for 50k, and they sell very well. (A Binary Load Lifter with a Medical module comes in a close 2nd.)

To establish the prices of droidz i determine the price of each components by adding all the amounts of ressources needed for that component and i multiply the sum by the complexity rating for that component. Adding all other components, if that is the case, and that gives a fair base price for that component, i somethimes do another equation according to the quality of the component but most of the time i sell as is. This way it gives a fair amount on the price of the ressources used and gives a margine for the profit without always calculating the costs of every ressources used.
I belive itès a quick, easy and fair way to determine the price of an object.
Are ya sure, I could've sworn it was 8.346...

It fluctuates. This one came a little early so it brought the average up.
Roll a 10 faces dice.
Multiply.
Add your age * 100.
There you go.
