Thread: Almost Master DE with a question for Master DE

I am currently 3-3-3-4 DE. I am finding it more difficult to practice my craft becuase of the limited descriptions of the new items I get from the game. My question is a multi-parter, so I appreciate any help I get.

First, at my level...what kind of combat droids should I be making? What should my numbers be for a "exceptional combat droid"?

Does a combat/general cluster degrade the rating of the other modules placed in it? And what experimentation line should I be concentrating on when I craft one?

What methods do you use to mass produce droids with many componants? I have two facotories up, and finding out that is just not enough!

Anyway, I love the profession, and am certainly not a profession jumper like half my server. I want to stay a DE and prefect my craft. Any and all help would be most welcome.

On the topic of factories: Two would probably be enough once you have a stockpile of all the components your need. But I just reentered the profession after about a three month hiatus from crafting, and I've got 8 factories running full tilt right now. It's the initial push to produce all the subcomponents that takes so much time, and takes up as many factories as you can put down.

Let me recommend that you figure out what droids you normally want to be able to manufacture on a moments notice. Then sit down and look at the components required for those droids. Then plan out factory runs of those components... I'd do them in runs of say like... 100 for the things like Advanced Droid Frames and such. And the Elec Mem modules/GPP modules, Control modules, etc in lots of 1-2k. Keep tons all all those Master Artisan components in stock, because everything uses them.

First of all, let me say it's good to hear that BGH is still going on Gorath. I used to have the DE vendor in Krayt Oasis before I took a short break. Of course, the first thing you should do is http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=droid_engineer&message.id=100088 target=_blank>look at the FAQ.

This is more subjective to the resources you're using. Considering I have no idea what you're stockpiles are like I would venture to guess they'd be somewhere around 75% of what a Master DE would make. Still sellable to the right market.

Short answer: No, and the experementation line doesn't matter. Long answer: Sometimes, modules will have a decimal value that doesn't get displayed and when added to other modules get bumped up one digit. This only happens with modules where quality matters.

A good medium for me was 4 Factories. 2 of which rotated between Droid Brains, EGP's and EMM's. #3 and #4 rotated parts and Chasis. More than likely if you're just starting up, you can get by with 3. (2 for MA parts, and 1 misc).

Anyway, I love the profession, and am certainly not a profession jumper like half my server. I want to stay a DE and prefect my craft. Any and all help would be most welcome.

i wouldn't suggest crafting combat droids and other types that require high levels of experimentation...

i would suggest making crafting droids and astromechs. you can even make full storage and data droids by stacking the lvl 4 modules. your R4s and R2s won't hold as much as a master DE's, but they will be useful to whoever purchases them.
