I have been an architect in game since launch....(or shortly after). I am thinking of going DE for a change....Now, i have the opportunity to be a 12pt DE for a sum of money.....Now, could u tell me if its worth it? Should I spend the credits on the ca's? Will it make a difference to my droid at all?
Thanks for your comments

All depends on what kind of droids you're making. It does make a difference in the stimpack dispensor and planetary survey droids, but those aren't very popular so... It also makes a difference in droid repair kits, which can sell well depending on your market.

I bought my Skilltapes with the hope that they might be usefull once in a distant future...
So, spend the money if you are filthy rich or they are really cheap

I just got 12 points myself. I am hoping those cybernetic thingies will be DE craftable and I will be able to take advantage of the extra points and make up for the money I spent on the CA's lol.

it is my understanding the whole 12pt thing was kind og gimmicky anyway. Im in FEDS on flurry server and one of our weaponsmith has no extra experimentation points beyond standard and she still makes some of the best weapons on the server(guildies get those though
) so....LIke i said, ive been told its kind of a gimmicky thing, you odnt really need the extra experimentation. SO unless im dead wrong(which feel free to correct me) i wouldt spend the money to get them, if theyre handed to you, take it, but dont waste credits.

This is an example of why I made myself a 12-pointer. Currently it has little impact on droid crafting, but you never know what the future holds. Also, keep in mind they are going to do a "crafting upgrade" in the near future, which may make the points more needed.

In DE there is very limited benefit you are correct. But in weaponsmith for example there may not be a real big benefit now, but there will be after CU.
The reason is today buffs will mitigate any kind of special action costs a weapon may have completely. Post CU that will be different because its designed to make special action costs actually cost you something. So a 12 point weaponsmith will be able to max out the damage plus reduce any special action costs the weapon will have more than a 10 point smith.
Now as far as armorsmithing, that is going to be interesting because I think I read that encumbrance will be eliminated and hindrances will not be experimentable (it will be static numbers always). So if there is only one line of experimentation to do then it will be like DE, you only need 10 points to max out one line.
