I was wondering if any has ever made a Probot with 5 det packs. They seem to be alot easier to make then a 6 pack R3.
Does the Probot need a combat mod to load the det packs? Or is it automadic due to its nature?
Worth it???
It seems that everyone either makes MSE (det 28) or R3 (Det 54). Think I could make Probot (det 45) ?
Just looking for the info from you masters as I grind and level.

Probot bombs would be the average average solution, while the MSE is the cheap and easy bang and the r3 the expensive big Boom.
Simply not worth the increase in my opinion, as adv MSE's go up to 40 (2*mod + 20 bonus) with 2 subcomponents and the r3 up to 60 (6* mod) withlike 5-6subcomponents

The reason that people like the R3 is that it can with one blast incap a player on a good hit. No other droid can do that.
You may as well use 2 MSE's instead of a Probot, you get more bang for your buck.

I've been making R3 bombs (59 det rating). Personally, I haven't gotten into probots, but I've only been Master DE for a month now. My feeling is the advantage probots have in this gameis with combat, not with detonation mods. For the effort and parts that go into a probot, you might as well do the R3 and get the extra module in there. According to my costs, the R3 is only slightly more than the probot, but because of the 6th module, you can sell these guys for a good price.

Here is my opinion on the Probot Bomber Droids:
A lot of players are getting savy (in particular Jedis) to seeing an R3 or MSE droid coming out to lay down the hurt. Someone bringing out a Probot to Explode may be a more subtle approach that you can take. It may be more easily dismissed as a "combat buddy" and the delayed reaction may give the droid enough time for the count down.
However, this is all theory. I have considered this line of product, but not sure how well received it would be. They do less damage than the R3s and that is there inherent flaw. However, they do require significantly less complex subcomponents.

However,I have noticed that a lot of players in SWG do not think too much these days. It is a point and click attitude while they watch their perfectly timed macro and the flurry of choreographed moves. Hence, the reason for the Combat Upgrade.
I would suspect that you would really have to market these detonation droids and only players that have perfected the art of blowing your target up to bite-sized morsels would be interested. I would recommend making a factory run of them once you have some interest and some specific orders for this product line. Then, you can casually sell them. However, I would not use top of the line materials unless requested (perhaps second or third best... maybe a det power of 45 (9x5) instead of using the best of the best)
The market value of these droids will be as follows:
A big surprise in PVP.
Increase mobility (the probot hovers and thus has greater terrain navigation ability)
Decreased overhead costs (and thus can be offered at a significantly discounted rate)
Good sized boom (however, with the exact same resources, it will do around 200-300 HAM damage less in PVP)
However, like I said... the Selling point is that, yes the R3 does more damage, but if it does not land because the target realizes the trap and runs, then you wasted that ability.
Therefore, you have to justify economically that the decreased HAM will result in a significantly greater likelihood of it working.
Long story short,
To sell these, you need to be a good salesperson and convince the customer that it could be useful. However, I am going to hold off on big product dumps until the CU comes out because everything may change.

Not a bad perspecrtive. disguise...less damage, but increased chance.
