Aguildie is going to give me a schematic so I can run my own composite armor segments. This is great, but what about the armor layers for the segments? Do I need these? Which layer do I need?

Nadda. Just the segment. Can be as cruddy as you want it to be inorder to keep the costs down.

You don't need any layers. Just the segments will work.

At this time, many player hunts krayts, mostly for pearls and tissues. If you have such friends, ask them to keep also segments they will loot on them. Krayt composite segment can be used for Armor Module 5 & 6.
