I have looked through the FAQs (great job BTW!) and did a quick search of the forum but was unable to find information on what relates to high HAM in droid production. Is it based strictly on material quality (Overall Quality or ?) or on great experimentation results (or both)?
Thanks!

Ohhh oops, yea I missed the experimentation part of the question.
It is OQ and experimentation. Meaning you need a high OQ resource, plus good experimentation.

For the final assembly, the material's (steel for DZ70 & other droids, chemical for R-series) OQ will limit the maximum HAM you may be able to experiment up to. MDE's usually have no problem reaching this max HAM value with only 10 experimentation points. As long as your experimentations dont result in "good" or lower, you should reach your HAM limit.
For example: you use 982 OQ chemical in the final assembly of a R-3 droid. That means your droid's HAM limit is 98.2% of the design max. In this case its 4500 for an R-3.
4500 X 98.2% = 4419 final HAM*
*assuming you do not achieve any bad experamentation results and are able to experiment and fill all the "experimental effectiveness" blocks.
Hope this helps.

As far as I know, it's a little bit of both.
Droid Effectiveness will effect the HAM on the droid when you experiment on that, and I think you'll get better default HAM based on the oq of the resource used.
However, someone like TK, Drashk, Straker, or someone would probably be a bit more reliable on this than myself.
