Well I find myself at a crossraods folks, i'm looking at this profession and I can't see where it's going. Let me give you a little background, I played at launch as a different character for two months and quit. I came back last summer and had more fun due to the vehicles making life easier, but after a month quit. That character I made is the one I am using now and is a DE 3333 and a pistoleer 1111 and almost master artisan.
Well I came back last week and I looked at DE and thought naaaa, so I surrendered some artisan skills to start scouting. I fancied creature handler and was happy to work my way there.
Then I had a change of heart and thought since I was so close to master DE I would give it a second chance. So yesterday I started working back those few artisan skills I surrendered with a new hope *drum role*
Then I read these boards and all I see is misery and further misery to come. I'm looking at what I have to look forward to in the last 5 boxes of DE and I isn't something that makes me happy. I currently have a probot, a surgical droid, an r2 unit and several adv z's for tanking. Well in the last few boxes I get an advanced probot that looks the same as the probot, protocol droid which is useless, you know the rest. I love the idea of DE, it's pure star wars, I like to tinker, I like the complexity. But I'm not stupid enough to stick with a pointless profession, right now it neither works as a pseudo combat profession or a business and it's only getting worse.
So should I complete my transistion to creature handler? pets are useful as mounts and combat aids. There's more variety which is the main draw and amazingly I can master CH and pistoleer and still almost master medic or maybe pick up some ranger skills if I like.
I really don't want to make another mistake, I've wasted enough time on what is supposed to be a game not a career choice which is what it bloody feels like right now.

I would base your decision on what you enjoy doing and what you think of the profession. On the boards, we tend to compare ourselves against other professions and talk about a lot of stuff. These things may all be true, but it is still quite possible for people to have fun in the profession.

Exactly....choose that with which you have the most fun.
