I hope you'll keep an eye on SWG and consider a time when it will be fun to come back and continue the path of droid 'goodness'.
Ah....a sad day this is....
/bow
Most Respectfully,
I'll occassionally monitor the boards to see if crafters ever get attention again, other than ending up making them all NPC. Too close to call now.
brother I'm right there with ya, its a sad day, already cancelled my crafter/mules, mde 7-30-03 to 4/18/05 rip...

Many of you know me from my dedication to droid crafting since the launch of SWG in June of 2003. Efon’s Droids has been my passion for nearly two years, but the time has come to hang it up. I stuck it out as long as was bearable, but the time demands of a large-scale crafter (and mayor of a large city) got to be much greater than was enjoyable.
I had held out some hope that there was fun in this game on the horizon. The CURB was coming, and a new expansion included cybernetic parts that I assumed would have to go through droid engineers. A vendor search that allowed global results without undercutting established crafters seemed like it may even increase sales. Those things that could have been a positive for the game have shown themselves to be the bane of my SWG gameplay.
The CURB is a flawed and ugly re-imagining of the game I’ve played since its beta form in early ’03. Beyond the significant cosmetic downgrade, so many things are broken by drastically new rule sets that I want no part of their year-long (or more) cleanup for crafters that will surely follow the CURB rollout.
Cybernetics from the wookiee expansion, which only made sense to be DE built and doctor installed, were announced as a NPC quest reward in a continuing trend of removing the player-based economy from the game. On its face, it was a small slight to crafters, but the big picture reveals a bleak future for crafter/merchant types.
The global vendor search has killed my non-BH droid sales nearly completely. I went from a million-credit-a-day business that had healthy sales in combat, surgical and BH droids to a daily income of a quarter of that which is almost exclusively BH droids. Newbie DEs sell inferior-rated droids at a third of the cost of my droids, and I refuse to lower quality to sell at their price.
I’ll be in and out of the game and forums for the next week until my subscription expires on April 26. To all my fellow droid crafters, I bid farewell.

Your post could have been taken directly from my brain except for the date on my cancelled account is May 10th. I'm not signing in after May 4th.
I, like you, went from 1 to 1.5 million a day to around 100k. I've tested the CU for over 2 weeks and know too much about the shortcomings of stapling a level system on top of a skill system.
I only hope that they eventually remove it, but I'm not going to go through the waiting period while not having any fun at all.

Sounds like Lowca's going to be missing most of the Master Droid Engineers with stable stock. I know of at least two other pro MDEs tossing in the towel besides you and me.
I really hope they pull the damage multiplier/reduction level thing out completely, but I fear they've used it as a core concept too deeply to do that. But one can always hope that in a few months, they'll pull their heads out and fix it.
'Till then, so long from me as well.

Thanks, I'll probably leave the site up so DEs can continue borrowing from it.
