i was reading the faq and the skickes about this whole droid business and thought iunderstoodbut, i think i am stillalittle confused about it all. . i baught an R3 droid that was said to be for combat. but when i went to go program it all the commands for guard and attack wernt there. so im thinking that i am suppost to buy the combat module right? so then my next question is, where? i've been to a few vendors already and all they are seling are the droids themselves, and maybe a customization kit. what am i not understanding?
if it said that it was for combat, was it suppost to already have the combat module in it? im confused. ive seen some of the droids that are o utfitted already with all the entertiner stuff so....also, for the droid can i have it be for both combat and enteratiner uses? can you mix modules like that?

it was probably a droid created pre-publish 18. All of those droids had their attack/guard commands stripped from them (but only when sold off vendors I think).

i see.
so then what all do i need to do to get myself a combat droid?

Either get a DE to do a special order for you (don't buy any combat droids off a vendor until they fix that bug), or wait for the developers to fix your current droid.

I don't think it has anything to do with the vendor. My combat droid that was in deed form decorating my house (pre-pub 18) has the same problem when I picked it up and generated the droid.

who knows... we've had very random reports on this one. May have to do with factory crates.

Well I made a special R2 Astromech droid for my fiance and threw a Combat module and Armor module on it to make it a back up Combat droid for him and put it in one of our shared buildings for him to pick up. The droid showed to me as a Level 30 so I assume that the combat ability is there but I will confirm with him next time we are online. Now similarly my other character bought off a combat medic droid from my vendors in a tent she has admin rights to and it retained its combat ability. So unless its a freaky coincidence I would reckon that so far someone with admin rights to your property will have no problems buying or picking up a post 18 combat droid and activating it.

I don't think there is a way to figure it out. I've had combat droids from same crate work and program fine and others from same crate be boorked. I've also had some of them made that were not in crate at all work and program fine and others that did not. All pre-CU.

I recommend you contact the droid engineer you purchased the bugged droid from. Most of us are replacing the unusable droids with new working post publish 18 droids.
I know i pulled all the combat droid deeds off my vendors on both Starsider and Kettemoor after i replaced some bugged droids for customers.
Most DE's want satisfied customers so just ask for a replacement.

It wasnt just in deeds off vendors. I have a four month old probot in my datapad which has all combat modules, I cant remember what the combat rating was at the time of purchase but it was as high as i could find. When i pulled him out of datapad several days ago he morphed from cl 18 to cl 1. Also no longer has combat abilities. Additionally, my scout droid is not working right either and i just noticed that my merchant barker droid no longer will bark, on the positive side the barker droid which has no combat or armor modules is now cl 18 (lol) but still cant attack of course. The whole thing is pretty screwy, i spent a pretty large sum on droids four months ago and the only one that works right now is my crafting droid.

thanks, i'll do that and see what happeneds. hopefully he's in that 'most of us' catagory.
