Thread: This has really become pathetic now

I have spent the last year as a MDE on Katte. I have quietly sat reading the forums and trying to make the best of the changes that came with the CU. I have always wanted to bea MDE and that why I started playing SWG.

That time is near an end now. Slowly but surely my interest in DE is fading. I have fought it by trying not to get frusterated and angry everytime I have had to destroy the work and time that I have invested into the profession, only to find that my crafted product is bugged or completely obsolete.

I have stopped crafting combat droids - since pub 18 and it's UNFIXED destruction of all the Probot advanced droids I had on a vendor. I recently fell victim to the bug where my Droid Data Modules are incorrectly requiring a higher level of Astromech certification to use. (craft Level 3 - and it requires a level 4 certification).

I have stockpiled a tremendous amount of resources and pre-crafted components just waiting for the devs to get their act together and fix some of the major bugs that they caused by deciding to completely revamp the way this game works. With no apparent end in sight and no clear information coming from the Devs (not to mention them releasing completely unacceptable code to the test center), what exactly is it that I am supposed to be drawn to as a Master Droid Engineer?

Do they really expect JTL and space, which is nowmore closely tied to the ground game and missions to grow when (or even exist) when the DE's are quitting right and left? They may end up being required to have NPC's issue Astromechs and Flight computers if things continue in their current direction.

I could write pages of complaints and bugs -> but alas it seems that NOONE is listening. I am sure I have filed over 200 bugs in game, but without hope or even recognition of these profession-killing bugs by the dev team, I fear for the future existence of Droid Engineers.

I for one, now refuse to craft any more droids until I am given some hope and bug fixes by the developement team of SWG. I fear this may cause me to lose what business I now have, but I simply cannot gain the enojoyment from crafting my droids and providing a service to others while the DE profession is in such a sorry state. I wish I could get back the money and time I have invested since the CU that my DE character has wasted. I really do not want to quit this game, but my hope spring is starting to run dry.

The crafting thing on the astromech droids - not sure if that is a bug. What happens is if you experiemnt on them too sucessfully you bump them into the next level of storage - hence they come out at the level above. Just have to make sure when you experiment that you don't do this - or on the plus side it does mean that you can make level 4 astromechs with level 3 ingredients...

The Probot vendor bug is a pain in the ass but I tend to do custom orders so it's not affected me that much other than explaining to people why the droid they have just bought does not attack. Usually results in another sale for me but not good for the profession as a whole

Hang in there though!

I share your pain, hopefully some day our bugs will be fixed. As was already said, the data module jumping to the next levle is not a bug. If you hit over 93% exp, then you bump it up to the next level.

I share your pain too

It's just like it always was..except for a brief false summertime way back when.....and we see no improvement and instead see only loss. Progressive loss of our fun in being DE.

I won't bore anyone by listing the downturns, but I will agree that playing a DE is far less fun than it ever was, and let's be honest we never did hit a 'high' of the fabled 'fun factor' in this profession. The latest 'all droids are the same CL' *feature* has just about killed my desire to craft any more. Sadly, as a hybrid crafter that leaves very little alternative for any kind of fun...as people will know being stuck on CL54 is a horrible place to be in this so called CU. Content? What Content?

It's like living in a desert here...no feedback whatever from the Devs or Jenden (not your fault hun) and because of that, no light at the end of the tunnel. Actually thats not entirely true, cos everywhere you turn there is that horrid HUMMMMM and a glowstick providing light thats directing the whole game where it shouldn't be going.

I would look on the bright side..but I can't see one !!

the state is the same on the armorfront, i had taken up master DE to pass the time while they fix the armor... but it seems it was in vain.

I have the same reaction as you... no more armor untill they fix the bugs, that might cost me my repute, then so be it. I will not sit idle by while they break the profession and ignore the bugs.

i wonder what might happen if we get all or at least a great deal of the existing DEs together so that all refuse to craft or sell droids...
one can survive better doing stupid missions (if the CU permits since even krettles may be deadly for some pure crafters) than on crafting which gets on ya nerves when the third thing becomes useless...

since we simulate a virtual life in a galaxy far far away...i wonder what will happen if someone runs a buisness like this in RL...he will get fired or broke...

any fixes are far far away if any...but for all it would be best if they would tell us if they plan anything in the next couple of months or at least would tell us to get lost with our prof...

still to proud to quit either prof or race (still wonders why ROTW brought nothing for wookiees)

Publish 19 - Breaking (almost) all pets and droids. CL 1 (0 hit points).

Once again I am reminded that I should question my subscription. Where is the QA? Why is SOE not listening to their correspondents or reading the bug reports that are submitted prior to releasing a major patch? This Keystone Cops mentality needs to stop. Fix the broken parts of your product.

I hope ... I hope ... I hope ... I hope ... I wish for better QA and perhaps a new QA Manager for SWG's developement direction and QA oversight.
