This isn't canon or anyone's veiwpoint perhaps except mine but some of the most satisfying moments in game have come from these little gems of droids that we Droid Engineers can't use.

Bounty Hunter droidswere dumped in our laps many months ago with the demise of NPC vendors. The pricing discussions with many "visiting" BHs were intense and enlightening to say the least. Currently they are the least "fun" to make, experimenting on themmakes no difference, they can't be used by their creators except as floating decorations, requirecrateloads of MA parts to make meaningful factory runs, and come in one color only.

Against that backdrop, some of my my most loyal and prolific customers have been Bounty Hunters. Not only have they bought tons of the little buggers, but they buy "regular" droids as well and even better, refer all the BHs' they know to shop my vendors as well. Word of mouth is a powerful ally. :-)

The credits have been nice, the good reputation even better, but the Best thing of all.. the 2 emails I received from two of my Best Bounty Hunter customers, thanking me for helping them achieve the title they had worked so hard to get...Master Bounty Hunter. Its things like that which mean the most,I've kept those emails in my file ever since. Everytime I ponder whether to keep making BH droids or not, I remember those emails and what it meant to them to achieve MBH and how goodit felt to help someone achieve their goal, even indirectly.

Something to think about when youlook at the schematics pondering, should I make Seekers and Arakyds or shouldn't I.

That's the thing isn't it?

Satisfaction and helping people.

Better than millions of credits and a huge house in the country.

Or nice clothes.

Or furniture.

Or good weapons and armor.

Or........

Oh never mind, you know what I mean.

It's fun!

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

I, like most DEs, became what we are in the hope of providing meaningful service to the community. We were so sure that droids, being so important to SW, would be equally important in SWG. So far, it has been the BHs, fellow crafters and medical personnel who have found us useful. I suppose it could be a lot worse.

I have tried to honor that ideal of service to the BHs by keeping at least 20-30 crates of each on my vendors at all times. I run into plenty of supposedly DE vendors who don;t stock BH droids or stock only singles. I can't imagine the frustration of not finding a supply of these puppies when the Investigation line is so difficult to begin with.

I totally agree: There are BHs that would never have made it without DEs like me, and likewise, I would never have made it to MDE without those almost guaranteed sales I personally started selling them because I empathize with them, they NEED someone to make these droids so that they can level. I would hate to rely on a single profession for my XP needs myself, so I decided to sell them. To my surprise, they've been constant sellers, apparently because not every DE bothers to stock them. Now that I've got Mad Merchant, I've set up a seperate vendor just for BH droids. Great for foot traffic, and they sell pretty well, too Thanks, BHs of Corbantis!
