Thread: Remove Droid Batteries and Color Customization Decay from the game, please...

Batteries are not a money sink, money sinks take money completely out of the game, it's money that goes nowhere and isn't really replaced by anything. Vehicle repair and the insurance systems are money sinks, becuase the money is taken out of the game and doesn't go to a player.
Although I agree with you that the batteries do need to last longer, and the need for a Timer.
I dont mind batteries. A battery gauge is essential though.
As for customization. Leave it as is, but remove the charges. Make it just like the crafting tools. Especially since people cant see the preview.
Thing i really dont understand is why the droids need energy (yes its logical they do but...) but vehicles, weapons etc dont need anything. I agree to have colour decay taken away because that was just a dumb idea and whoever thought of it for SOE should be thrown into a pit of homosexual ewoks.
I also agree that batteries should last alot longer, and as an artisan i cant recall selling many droid batteries to be honest, so they didnt give me anything to sell at a lower level
Batteries: if they were put in to "help" the DE profession, boy are the people at SOE brain dead. Batteries can be crafted by new low level artisans. If that was the intention, fine, but at least make them last 1 hour minimum. Also, the "Mind" (blue bar) should be used to show the power remaining of the battery, or create a new bar like vehicles have.
Customization Kit: I gave up on these. Got tired of having to craft these stupid things only to have droids loose coloring and customers get pissed. Even when I did it for free. :-) Hey, if you can let people choose their color of armor for two weeks, do the same for droid owners.
Ho...
Both of these were added simply to throw a bone to the DE community so that we might earn some credits while our profession was hopelessly broken.
Now, with the new emphasis being placed on droids, these two things are no longer required and will save some Database space to boot.
We do not need droid batteries. Weapons do not need magazines or batteries, why should droids? Weapons were not given these things because, even when broken weapons are being bought.
I like the idea of being able to customize a droid, but I don't want to spend the majority of my time doing it over and over again to the same droid. Let anyone be able to use a Customization kit. Either a) Make it give colors based on the makers skill or b) Make it a Master DE item so that ALL colors are available so as to save some programming and Database space. (For the record, this should be done across the board with colorable items, such as Clothing and Armor).
Neither lasts long enough. Neither do more than frustrate us and, if the Dev's do it right, neither will be neccessary in the near future for us to earn a living. Realistically, Medical Droids and any droid capable of storing 10 items in it were enough of a seller to keep us afloat, but most of us took other crafting professions to support our DE habit anyway.
The time for these two useless fixes is past. Remove them please.
Batteries are not a bad a thing. The way they are in game they are. We need longer lasting batteries, and a Timer. The reason they are in game it is a money sink, not very large but it is.
Customization, again, done wrong. The customization need to last longer. They both don't need to be taken out of the game, they just need to last longer
I am not a droid engineer, but as a customer I'm going to throw in my 2 cents.
I have a colored customized droid, it looses it color all the time, yes it is annoying, but rather fun. The droid still allows me to heal people, and craft my medical items, so I do not complain. To me the color customization wearing off in 20 uses is not a show stopper -- I'd rather see more important items fixed first; then allow us to set the color or see a droid engineer to set the color for good.
The battery thing is quite annoying. I agree with most of these comments, I would like to see if how long the battery lasts could be tied to the level of the person crafting the item. Also, a meter would be very handy, I also have a probot droid that the batteries went out during the middle of me fighting some creatures I needed help with. It took me a moment to realize that Thor was just not going to fight and after my incap I'd have to recharge it after I finished fighting.
A meter of sort or some way to tell would be nice - I could then recharge Thor if needed or my medical droid too. It's quite annoying to have to give a command to find out *Low Battery*.
