Thread: General Socket Clusters,..Not what you think!!!
/agree
As it is now we have to wait and craft a General Socket cluster after getting an order. Takes longer, and we should be able to make them have open slots we can add modueles to per orders received. AND take away the adding another General Socket Cluster to one already; that's a downright exploit, and surely not intended to work that way. If they ever do get around to fixing that, there's going to be a lot of unhappy past customers (myself included :->
.
The simplest fix to this simply from a coding perspective would be to make an 'advanced' general module socket cluster that goes into a normal general module socket cluster slot.
It would require two new schematics to be made. The first would be the advanced general module socket cluster body. Requirements would be:
30 units of metal
15 units of metal
7 units of metal
7 units of chemical
7 units of low-grade ore
The second schematic would be the advanced general module socket cluster. Requirments would be:
10 units of metal
1 general module socket cluster body
1 general service module (optional)
1 general service module (optional)
1 general service module (optional)
Shoot. Hit the wrong key.
Anyway, this is just looking at the question from a coding angle. I'm not sure exactly what impact this would have in game, though it seems minimal.
Quite possibly the impact would be too minimal to justify tinkering around with the system like that. Aside from the skill required (expert droid production) the requirements for a general module socket cluster are pretty low (52 metal, 7 chemical, 7 low-grade ore). There is very little time involved in creating one and most of that would still be spent in choosing the advanced general module socket cluster body, metal, and three modules.
