Cyanna,

I am a Radiant Master DE and I would be happy to talk you through the process of outlining what you might need and want in your droid. Please send me an e-mail in game and I'll try to help you out as much as I can. I know there are a few others of us out there also. Thanks

well it all depends on what you are looking for the droid to do.. droids have many abilitys that could be very usefull for a doc,

Surgical, giving you a med bonus and being able to heal, buff out of a hospital.

Data pad, these come standard in all my droids, They hold schematics which to any crafter is invaluable.

storage, who doesnt need an extra 10 slots : ) i use it to hold my crafting clothing, and armor, its also great to hold stuff you dont use often to unclutter your inventory.

food/chem crafting station, acts as a personal crafting station soo you can make your items anywhere any time.

Combat, when you get into a bind they can really save your ass, even one with just one combat module can be worth its weight in gold to save you from that nasty mauler.

Repair, whilein the city why not make a few credits letting your droid fix up some others that are in some lov'in

Maintance, Pay maintance on any structor you have admin on remotely. Its great if you are not sure or have an emergancy structor maintance with out having to go travel all the way there, neverouse about a building not having enough money. Drop in 5k and give your self some breathing room and not worry.

Stim-pack, these can only use stim A's but can be called by anyone in your group for a little boost till you have time to get to them

Merchant barker, advertise while you go off and do a mission or have a wp handy to your store where peolple can buy your stims.

there are lots of usefull things droids can do, and picking out the right combo of parts can turn your droid from , ehh itsbut eh makes neat noises too wowhow did i ever live with out him. I use mine ever dayand would be lost with out my little metal freind

there are many types of droids to, and many use different amounts of modules,,

they range from 1-6 a mouse holds one while a R3 astro mech has 6 I make all types of droids and have tons on my vendor located at Quarks, the second cantina in syn city, Naboo. Talk to my sales man <vendor> Rom

I have surgicals, proticols, R's and many others, even if you chose not to buy one from me you can get a great idea of the differnet modules combos and ideas what might be usefull for you

One last thing, the 2 legged talker types, androids, still can NOT be named.. I guess thats a bug they dont seam to care about still : ( i would have figured the droid revamp that would have been high up on the list.

1 x level 6 storage module

1 x level 6 medical moudule

1 x Food/Chem crafting station

Why would you need high HAM and max armor on a droid with no combat capability? Just curious.

3Stimpackdispensers (not to mention the 110 medical unit)mean you can use it 'in the field' for PvE or PvP, in that context, the more armour and the higher the resists the better, surely? Non?

I wasn't trying to be a smartass or anything. I'm genuinely curious. I made my ranger char a harvester droid, and didn't bother with armor or good HAM on it, and after using it for a couple weeks, it's still never been attacked out in the field. Is it possible that it would be, without a combat module and an order to go kill something?

I don't PvP, but I would guess that an enemy could kill your droid as they can kill your vehicle. I'd further guess that an extra 1000 HAM or 20% resists isn't going to stop that from happening.

What are all the DE's opinions on this. HAM experimentation and armor modules in utility droids: Good idea, or waste of materials?

I see where you're coming from honey but when push comes to shovea single armour module and, what, 260 units of High OQ chemical? aren't going to make a lot of difference to the DE but the few extra seconds it would take to DB the droid could mean a major heal from the doc to one PC and a stim request to another directly from the droid plus the added bonus that it's 3 or 4 seconds, *you're* not getting shot at. The original request was for the 'top of the line' and as such, I stand by my loadout

Well, you're certainly right. The great thing droids is how they can be tailored to each application. Maybe the original poster could say what he/she intends to use the droid for specifically, and that might help.

For example, for the best BuffBot, I recommend a huge red Binary Load Lifter ADV, with a food/chem station, max item storage, and max medical. Great attention-getter when there are several docs around selling buffs - pays for itself in no time.
