I havesomequestions regarding my old probot. I just recently started playing SWG again after an 8 month break. I have this old prenerf probot on my datapad. My first question is how does the droid life cycle work now ? I know when i quit the game there was a hint that droid perma death was in and that once my droid blew up that was the end of the droid. So If I take this droid out and he blows up is that the end for him or is there still life ? Next Is this droid still even viable, he has a 3k HAM, i'm not entirely sure where the probot droid HAM is these days, Is it worth even pulling him out outfitting him with some new modules or is he just a relic best left in the data pad. If he is still viable what modules would you envision placing on him. I'm not sure his current setup, can i even change out modules ? I know I have a bunch of questions but please post some thoughts on this, thanks.

Well, it really depends. The pre-nerf probots had HAM of up to 3800, the current adv. probot HAM is around 3200. If it had the max armor back then, i think it could be something like 80% across the board,it may not still have it but it's worth a look. Current max is 40% with an AP of none - so none of us are really sure if armor does any good at all right now. I think it does, but It can't be any better than what the pre-nerf had.

Current full combat probots have attack ratings maxing out at 550, which translates to about 190 dmg @ .8 spd. The early ones varied alot because of the limited amount of quality resources at the time. Permadeath is out, but I don't know for certain that your old one wont disappear the 1st time it dies.

You can't change the modules in a droid once it's built, so if you like any of the new modules, you have to buy a new droid.

Some of the other droid chassis have become quite useful compared to the old probot, so you might want to take a look around and see if some of the new droids do what you want done better than your old one. For example, people seem to like the adv. LE droid as a tank because it maxes out at around 6k HAM. The new adv. probot is still good for plenty of work, mostly because of the 5 available module slots.

perma-death came and went. Probots were nerfd down to 800 ham are now back up to 3100-3200. Armor has been nerfed to 20% resists. Your old probot cannot be modded. If you want different modules you'll have to buy a new one. However, Probots now require combat modules, up to five for max damage. Placing other types of modules, medical etc., will lower it's damage output.

Plus your old probot has no combat modules in it so it may be down to only 1 point of damage at this point. I can't quite remember which changes were retroactive and which changes were not but the current probots only do 1 point without a combat module in them.

Ok thanks for the replies. It may seem my best route will be to purchase a new droid and mess around with them. I just wanted to make sure that if i destroyed my prenerf probot i wasn't destroying something I would later regret. From digressing the posts it seems that the probots now are close too or on par with the probots of old, In fact the newer probots may even be better. I guess I'll be checking into getting my hands on some new droids. Thank you again.

I too have an original pre-nerf probot. Not many are left, most were wiped out during the perma-death plague that ripped through the droid community. Many a good droid fell during those dark days. He may not be considered the best with the new flashy models, but mine still holds his own in combat and still comes back if destroyed. I would suggest holding onto him if for no other reason than loyalty.
