Thread: Structure Maint. Mods

Can someone tell me what the deal is with these things? Since the patch that supposedly "fixed" them, I have made a Protocol droid with a Structure Maint. and Item Storage, and the module didn't show up on the deed or on the readied droid. Then I made one using an MSE with just a Structure Maint. and it doesn't show up in that either. I've gone to a structure, with the droid out, and looked at all the menus for one that adds the droid to the list (doing this with factories), and I can't find any option. Does it only work in certain droids, does it not work on factories, does it not show up on the deed or on the readied droid, are they completely broken, or what? My structure mods MAY be from before the patch (I can't remember when I factory made them), does that make a difference?

Someone care to help me out with this? I can't make heads or tails of this, and so far I have 2-3 customers who want to know why it doesn't work, and I can't tell them because I can't figure it out either.

i noticed that the launcher paused to install some files the other night, so i think the maintinance modules were nerfed again for some reason or the other, the droid that i had with three of em stacked doesn't work anymore.

anyone have any concrete info on this?

Can we get an update on these modules please?

Dealing with these modules has reached the point of absolute STUPIDITY. Haha. It's gotten so bad, I can't help but laugh hysterically the moment I even *think* of trying to build another droid with them. I then get depressed when people ask me for them, and I start the explanation of why i'd rather not build them yet, as they're too easy to break (if they work at all in the first place).

What is the DEAL with these things?

Devs, for the love of all that is holy, please get these things fixed or taken out of the game. I can't deal with anymore confused customers (more than I already do on a daily basis).

On a more positive note, I just realized I haven't updated my sig - I'm finally a MDE now! Yay!

Thanks for all the work you DE's put into this community, without you I'd be hopelessly lost. There is a wealth of knowledge in this forum from you guys, and I appreciate it.

The Devs have made DE hands down one of the most confusing professions to work with, IMHO. There's nothing but seemingly random numbers and ratings, and they all use different systems. Why did they make this all so horribly confusing? I mean, I deal with everyday - explain all those numbers to a guy who just wants, "a robot (shudder) to get meat for him." It's near impossible. One word, Devs - Simplify. Thank you.

i have to agree. it's great that they have added so much content to the profession, but inventing new systems and rules for how things stack and combine together for each new set of content was pretty foolish, IMO. Learning the profession, and explaining the profession to others, is a nightmare because of it.

and the maintenance droids... they are so bugged I don't think they ever should have gone live. I am selling MSEs with maintenance modules but I'm naming them:

"Adv Structure Maintenance Mouse: be careful. these are very buggy"

Yes, Malitevv, the content is quite wonderful. I'm very thankful for that. There are some really cool droid options out there, now. I really love creating these little buggers, and customers who send me emails that say "I love this droid, it's so cool, he's my new best little buddy and so helpful" and stuff like that make me feel great. It's a blast too, whenever they first call their new droid, I give it a pat on the head, haha.

I love your name for the MSE w/ maintenance module - I'm gonna have to steal that idea Don't know why I didn't name mine that in the first place. Time to hit the factory....

No update yet...the E3 thing was bad timing for us, in that regard.

I've put it up front on a few occassions and will continue to press.

As I said elsewhere, this is worse than embarassing for the DE profession..but then..you know that

For what it's worth the Treadwell Maintenance Droid I made previously seems to be working perfectly.
