Okay thanks for the Experimentation anserw. Now can anyone anserw the Mechanism Quality question?

It doesn't matter on anything other than survey droids.
Neither mechanism quality nor durability mean anything to the final droid.
It is possible by design that mechanism quality may affect your chance of a crit fail on the final assemble, but this has never been proven or otherwise verified.
On survey droids it does affect how quickly your droid reports back. For everything else, it's a waste of resources.
As to how high people have gotten, this will vary by server because of different resource availability (each server has unique spawns), but I have seen mech quality in the mid-80's on survey droids. On other droids, it's irrelevant.

*I've added the wrod "seems" for the people saying this can't be proven, but when I use the best materails to make sub-comps I get the same results as if I use grind quality, I don't know what eles they want for proof.
I have kinda wondered that myself. I see that the specialized components regarding good resources is what really counts. As I get more and more into the profession it is turning out to be very interesting..
