Thread: What Kind of astromechs
You are correct an Astromech is any R series droid with a data module installed.
Level 1 Data module = Level 1 Astromech (only with good resources and experimentation a lower level data module can become one level higher Astromech)
Any R droid will do.
For the lower levels R5's with the data module and storage are the most economical. Since they will be traded up as the pilot progresses
For Level 6 both R2s and R3's decked out with other functions are good sellers.
Winny
What I do is stock v1-6 Flight Computers, 5 each and Level 1-6 Astromechs in an R4 Basic, also 5 each, and sell them for 1k per each FC level (1k for lvl 1, 2k for lvl 2, etc) and I tack on 2k for the Astromechs (well, it requires droid components).
So basically:
5 LVL 1 FC's at 1k each + 1k per level
5 LVL 1 Astromechs at 1k per level + 2k for the droid chassis/components/resources
Always have 5 each, and maybe have a seperate vendor as not to clutter your main vendor with a plethora of droids, and they should sell pretty decently. Maybe have a few return customers as well.
I'm only a 3214 DE, and I have quite a few return customers. I really don't grind too often, I really prioritize my business before getting MDE to get some extra cash and return customers, and to make a name for myself.
On Bloodfin, there are so few DE's, that any Astro droid I put on the vendor sells. THe pilots are really getting into using the special moves, and since you must have a droid, sales are up. And they keep coming back for the next level droid because they know I keep them stocked (also advertising with a merchant barker droid helps !!). Build them all, and they will sell
