I have seen the following order on Starsider:
A droid for sale (screenshot)
What confuses me a little is that it does not list a combat rating, but the name implies that it was capable of attacking, since the CL is 30. Is that possible?
Greetings
Auset
It is possible to have a CL30 droid without the ability to attack, just armour.
But I'd go with what the name says.
Basically that means you have no chance of knowing what your droid can do until you buy it? Only the fewest DEs select such detailed names for their droids... :/

"What your droid can do" as far as combat ability is based solely on CL now, unfortunately. If it's a probot or DZ70, it can attack. If it's an R2 or R3... well, the deed should tell you what modules are in it. If it has combat-oriented modules, expect combat ability. Crafting or entertainer modules, and it most likely just has armor--butI would hope the DE put basic information in the deed's name...
[edit] Just looked at the screenshot--it can attack,'cause it's a probot (they have combat ability by default).

Repair of 44 isn't very high. It's either pre-cu, or made with crappy auto-heal modules, or with only a couple auto-heal modules. I get rate 85 healing with4 autoheal and one combat module.
Yep, that looks normal to me. As others have pointed out, there is NO way of knowing if a current droid can attack without having it out and checking the program list for the attack command. DEs are pretty honest people though, so go by the crafted name. Sure someone 'could' name it like that and it 'not' do what the name states, but that would just be Wrong, Wrong, Wrong! This is why many of us are complainingabout the current deed info. You really can't tell. It's something that SHOULD be fixed!
This kind of sounds like you are still under the impression that the probot and DZ70 droids still have innate combat capability, when they don't. Not since publish 17, anyway. I just wanted to clear that up so there's no confusion.

Solely? Does every single CL30 droid have the same attack and damage values then, independant of model and number of combat modules? After all... as with players, a CL30 play who attacks with a CDEF pistol deals less damage than one with a DH17 pistol. Well, about a tenth of the damage.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't DZ70 Droids melee too now? My toon that has a CL30 Combat/+110 med DZ70 always sees it fighting melee now. I haven't seen it fire a laser since a few publishes back. Don't know when it stopped but has been a little while. It always deals around 100 damage and is always melee.

Unless a combat module is added to the droid it won't have combat abillity. Most droids can have combat modules added apart from *racks memory* Power Droid, Protocol Droid, Mouse Droid and I thinka couple of others.
My CL30s are made up of Level 4 Armor and Combat Module and I mention Combat on any droid I make so everyone knows that. But yes, whatever values a CL30 comes to (that screenshot shows the values) those apply to any Level 30 Droid. There is no apparent difference except R Units are seemingly melee and Floating Units are ranged (although sometimes they go crazy and rush up to the target).
I usually suggest Probot and DZ70 for Ranged Combatants and R units for Melee Combatants so that the droid can fight efficiently alongside them.
I guess the fact that it deals little damage is so that people do not use them to fight their battles whilst at the same time they can fight for low level people which is beneficial to players that do not have combat ability.

Could also use one combat module of medium quality and one level four armour module. (that's what I do anyway)

Yep. To get a fully maxxed combat droids of any chassisdoing the same damage, you only need 1 combat modules of any quality, and either 2 level 4 Armor or 1 level 6 armor. Thats all. The remaining modules can be filled with other fun stuff.
