Ok, first of all, the moderators have nothing to do with the development process, they're just here to keep things somewhat civilized. There are a few conduits of information we've got, first and formost is our correspondent, he essentially sums up everything we say and hands it over to TH. Second is the various droid posts on in-concept/in-development/in-testing boards. These are focused on certain issues and read through by the devs. Finally some of the devs do like to lurk, so they read a lot of this stuff for themselves.

I wouldn't say that the devs hate our profession, as thats really nonsense. They want the game to be fun for everyone (as fun = success = money). The problem we face most of the time is that droids are difficult to work with, because they really do touch on a little bit of everything in game. Combat droids specifically pose a problem since they all must be under CL 10 (this isn't because they hate us, its because thats the way things are set up). BE's are easier because they can make the range of experimentation much broader and just increase the CL. Since all droids are under CL10, they have to balance out the amount we can experiment versus the net results. They don't have it right yet, but hopefully it will change.

The moderators have nothing to do with it...YES, I know. My point is, they are our primary line of communication to the DEV team.

As far as the DEVs hating us...I don't know. Sometimes even here at my job I hate customers because they want something a certain way or want to change this or that. Sure, the money is good, but that is not the source of all happiness.

You said: "Combat droids specifically pose a problem since they all must be under CL 10 (this isn't because they hate us, its because thats the way things are set up)."

What do you mean by that? Are you saying their program is set up to not support above CL10 Droids? Give me a break. They are having "balance" issues. Screw the balance idea. Nothing in this game is balanced. Architects can make more money than I can. A TKA Master can probably whoop my Master Pistoleer without me having much of any kind of chance. My Master Commando can solo a Rancor Lair, but I bet a Master Carbineer can not.

My point is...if everything in this game was exactly as powerful and/or capable as everything else....they might as well have us all play Group Mario Bros. This game is in no way balanced in any other manner, why are the DEVs putting up such a fuss with this Droid Idea? You know why? Because the way they programmed pets in the beginning is coming back and biting them in the azz now...They did not leave it open. They are pissed because they have to go back and change so much just to make the Droid Pets work with the variety and concepts thatdroids should. So, what do they do? They yank this 'balance' story out of their hind ends and shove it in our face making it seem like our want for some kewl droids causing global corruption is our fault. Now, if the idea of imbalance just hit them, then they are ignorant because it has always been that way. They developed this game that way. I saw a Jedi Light Saber with max damage of 2094 and speed of 1.8. The most capable, non-consumable weapon I know of is my 3.3 spd, max damage 991 Flamethrower. That by no means is balanced!

So, why not just give us something kewl to play with, bring them their money they like and give us some fun rather than hold out on us for 6 months saying it will "imbalance" the play of the game. GIVE ME A F-in BREAK!

There have been numerous amounts of design ideas from players in this forum over the last 2 months. From all that, we get to make R2's with a zapem arm and nerfed HAM...OH BOY...here is my $0.02: "WAY TO GO DEVS! YOU HAVE PROVEN THAT OUR IDEAS AND WANTS MEAN NOTHING TO YOU...THANKS. CAN'T WAIT FOR MY NERFED R2, THANKS A LOT. MAYBE NOW MY COMMANDO WILL HAVE A CHANCE AGAINST THAT KRAYT DRAGON." LOL

No, the correspondants are our primary line of communication to the DEV team. The moderators have nothing to do with the DEV team.
