Along that same vein, we SO need the astromechs to make that "WAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOUUUUUU" sound when you are getting hit a lot in space...that would be hilarious!

Just me, but I think the "current issues" thread should never get more than 6 months old - even if the issues are that old (heck, we STILL cant name speaking droids! ). But a more current date would give us some confidence of it's reliability. Thanx.

/Sigh too true. Starting a new thread is a good idea. So retired DE's can come back read a single page, and see that nothing has changed

It may also help to remind the dev's that these are still outstanding issues, and they where not fixed 2-16-05.

When will someone make an election promise to save DE? They'd have my vote

Decay System:

The Decay system could simply be a functionality decay. As a droid "Decays" it's ability to perform its function is diminished, i.e. the medical droids medical enhancement reduces over time but never falls bellow a certain point.

Functionality:

I read one idea of removing certifications to give a droid some player abilities to help players make up for short commings this is a great idea. The only draw back is an increase in independance which can be a adjusted for by simply doing what has already been done for pets by making them not as good as players ultimatly. Sure the droid could slice the terminal or weapon but never as good as a summugler. After all they are only droids and if droids could think none of us would be here.

Combat:

I Think the idea of a combat droid profession at first as a bad idea. But if the certifcations are removed and people can use any combat droid as long as its combat level is not to much higher than the players, or is a droid specificaly ment for DEs, and Battle Droid Commander of which there should be certifications for. And the advantage of the BDC who has trained specificaly to understand the use and function of combat droids and how to command them, would be that he can control up to two battle units and one support droid at one time. And even though the combat droids do not go above a certain CL, The BDC can act as his own group or fullfill the needs of the group because even though his droids are not better than players his droids are closer than the none DE and BDC proffesions. And the DE can control one advanced battle droid whos CL is lower than that of BDCs, and can controlone Advanced Battle Droid and one support droid at a time.
