Thread: Proposed Reconciliation for Droid Engineers and Smugglers

Or how about we just leave it like it is?
Sounds like a plan to me
No, this is not right.
Remember back when the Bounty Hunter droids were sold on NPC terminals, how angry that made Droid Engineers?
Items in droids should be scannable. However, the concept of having a smuggling module for droids has merit.
Here are some possible smuggler modules:
- A hidden compartment. Have the maximum number of items stored in the compartment half the cap for normal items. Give it some small bonus to beat the scan. Usable by all.
- A smuggler's hidden compartment. The maximum number of items in this compartment is the same as a normal item storage compartment - but only a smuggler can use it.
- A skill enhancer (scan jammer) for smugglers. This would jam the imperial scanners, and enhance the smuggler ability. Usable only by smugglers - only they know how to tune the jammer to the right frequency.
Plus, other possible smuggler modules:
- Slicing enhancement modules for armor and weapons. There could be two types - one that enhances the slice, the other that allows some control of what the slice could be. THis makes for a total of four modules.
- An illegal chem lab module, that provides bonuses when making spice.
Instead of trying to hold on to what is a bug that gives us extra sales, above are listed 8 possible smuggler oriented modules.
If we got some real dev attention, we could make smugglers our best customers ![]()
wow thank you smugglers for complaining worst than a female on a bad pms day... if it haddnt been for you guys coming in here and yelling a lot of people probably wouldnt have known about the storage detection benefit. Profits are up, sells are up, droids are on backorder.
/bow - keep up the complaining please.... lets let everyone know about the droid storage units... I might actually pay off the 400k I've had to borrow to play my profession... you guys are great sells reps
I don't understand the beef here. If smugglers are the only ones to be able to hide contraband material, why in the world would anyone want to buy your stuff if they have no place to hide it ??
Sounds to me like you are going to cut your own throats by insisting this goes away. Your sales will take a dive because no one will want to carry any of the stuff due to a lack of hiding places.
There should be smuggler missions that a smuggler can get to transport "item(s)" from a NPC to a NPC, like delivery missions. However, when they have the item(s) the smuggler gets checked by every security/Imperial NPC they pass bythus having to "smuggle" the item(s),by avoiding checks when possible and passing scans when needed. Then the smuggler could use droids to get higher missions to carry larger numbers of items. When starships are available the smuggler whould be able to smuggle larger numbers of items and have toavoid security/Imperial ships and pass scans. Failing to get pass security/Imperals would have consiquenses like fines, failing the mission, bounties placed on them, lossing faction points, etc... Just an idea.
