Count me in. I already have a Winny on Test Center but she isn't a DE but i can grind MDE again no problem. I find that playing a DE is the most enjoyable part of the game to me. I would love to help. I'll check out the city ASAP.

Once involved i can be counted on for a few hours a week.

What does joining the TC mean? To some, its home. To others, its a vaction spot. TC-Prime is what you make of it. Think of it as aLive Server, with a few more bugs, a lot more down time, but with out the Live attitudes. You won't find gankers or spawn campers here and Spam is only a canned meat.

Will it affect my regular SWG client software? What's the process? As long as you take the following steps, nothing will be harmed.

    1. First, make a copy of your SWG folder. This folder can be placed anywhere, as long as you have enough room, of course. This will allow you to skip majority of the update process. (Incidently, If you are like me, and reformat your computer often and have a DvD Burner or backup storage drive, it is advisable to make a copy of your SWG folder and 'put it away' every few months. This saves a ton of time on having to reinstall and reupdate.

    2. Next, run your Live client, like normal, until you get to the patch notes/options window. On the bottom right hand corner is an option forTest Center. Choosing this will bring up the User Agreementagain. Enter though it, like normal, and a dialogue box will pop up, asking you where you would like to install TC. Steer it towards your freshly copied folder.

    3. The client will update, with any code that is currently on TC and you will be all set up to make your character on TC.

    4. Be sure to look for TestCenter and not one of the TC-Server name servers. I can not be held resposible if you stumble onto one of those and get challenged to upmteen-million duels in a manner of 2 seconds.

In order to make it easier to log on, instead of having to go through having to log onto the game twice, each time that you want to use TC, through the Live 'Test Center' button, you will need to do the following.

  1. First, locate your Star Wars Galaxies icon on your desktop. Right click it and select Create Shortcut. This will create a second SWG icon on your desktop. RIght click that and select "Properties."

  2. Under the General Tab for properties, rename the icon to "Star Wars Galaxies Test" or something similarly appropriate. Then open the Shortcut tab. You'll need to change two fields for this tab.

  3. The Target field will be our first change. Here's the normal command found there:
    "C:\Program Files\Sony\Station\Launchpad\LaunchPad.exe" /game:starwars

    • Here's how we'll change it:
      "C:\Program Files\Sony\Station\Launchpad\LaunchPad.exe" /game:starwars /testcenter

  4. Next we need to change our "Start in:" field. This needs to reflect the directly where your test center files can be found. In my case I use c:\games\swgtest so that becomes the content of my "Start in:" field:
    c:\games\swgtest

I'd be interested in supporting.

Hope that helps you out a bit.

hehe .. starting to look like Ill have to have all my characters based in tatooine until they have enough resources and/or credits and the combat level to deal with the high level critters that are surrounding the town.

I have so far not been able to find an area near town that is void of red dots that I can place harvesters down for my level 1 crafters.

But, I have managed to get eurani to start work on Novice DE but until I can find safe spots to plave these harvesters.

>>edit<<

Whew found a spot thats a bit safer .. a few level 25s just inside of 128m view. So got some Aluminum, Class 3 Radioactive and some Fiberplast running. Just hope they dont all run out of money before my characters can make some.

Thanks, Drashk, for inviting me into the city and setting my toons up with some houses!

Two of my toons are entitled to /respec's, so one of them for sure will be a Master DE by this afternoon. In light of the last poster's comments, I might make one of my other toons a combat-oriented character so that I can help keep the area around Droid Mecca lair-free.

Welp folks. I won't be logging on, ingame, until Monday morning some time. (PST).

I went white water rafting today, down the Kings River, in California, and just back home.

10 miles of Class 3 - 4 rapids + 29 year old, out of shape, male + Having way too much fun = Red Warrior needs sleep.

We should have made the city update, without a single issue, and should be well on our way for the next update, which will include a shuttle port.

I just wanted to update everyone to the cities progress.

Droid Mecca has now hit Township, with a total of 45 citizens. There are currently 11 toons that are located in city limits that need to redeclare residency, which will put us in a perfect situation to reach the next Rank, which includes a Shuttleport.

The city is now a Research Center and has a Cantina, Garage, Medical Center and a Clone Center. One of each mission terminal has been added to the city, with most being placed near City Hall. The city is now registerd on the City map, to make it much easier to find. The following trainers can be located in the area of City Hall and the Cantina -

Artisan
Architect
Bounty Hunter
Brawler
Droid Engineer
Entertainer
Marksmen
Musician
Scout

If anyone needs a different Trainer placed in city, just let me know.

Thank you everyone for making the city grow so steadily.

Following is a list of toons that still need to redeclare residency

DarkVortex
DarkVortexB
DarkVortexC
Oboal
Havana
HavanaB
HavanaC
Orn
EnigmaticB
EnigmaticC
Isrec'
