I've rencently put up on my Vendors what I call "JTL Flight Packages"

This package includes the following:

1) 1 Version 1 Flight Computer
2) 1 Version 2 Flight Computer
3) 1 Version 3 Flight Computer
4) 1 Version 4 Flight Computer
5) 1 Version 5 Flight Computer
6) 2 Unprogrammed Droid Command Modules

7) a really cool backpack that you will probably delete afterwards anyways

They are priced at 10K for the whole thing (The backpacks cost me 1K to have made by a tailor friend in lots of 200).

I've been selling about 3 or 4 a day. Not speedy fast but they are fairly new packages I've put together.

Eclipse here as well

5k for UDCM
5k per level of FC

They're not flying out the door (mainly because of people selling on the bazaar for less) and I would buy them up and sell on but I could use the xp atm (originally my entire BH droid sales were resale

I think I'm selling more Astromechs than UDCM and FC's combined right now!

Nice to see another Eclipse DE going for 5k for UDCM's. I keep raiding the bazaar for cheap ones and still make a killer profit (which keeps my factories free to make other components). One guy even emailed me thanking me for all the sales...

I sell for 2k each/50k crate.

I sell programmed chips for:

Normalization/level 1: 3k

level2: 4k

level3: 5k

level4: 6k

Smooth, if not brisk sales at times.

I see singles for 6k on the vendors, and the volume varies dramatically. I think 2k is a bargain.

Flight Computers just arent selling for me. I must be doing something wrong. Selling for 1k a level and only managing to sell maybe 1 or 2 per day.

People may not be seeing them on your vendor. Build an armor plate with the message: "Looking for Flight Computers? Check the DEEDS section". Please it next to or above your vendor. Worked for me.

Well I changed my prices and got a fellow DE to make me some schematics for other level chips I dont have access too, and I just had my best days sales since I started the game. Thanks for the tip any how

I get a warm feeling inside when I hear the email blip noise thing... ahhhh

Wow. Do you realize how hollow that sounds? Even for a game? But I guess everyone enjoys the game differently. I'd ban you from my store too...

You weren't speaking to me, but I do feel the need to question your value judgement.

What you fail to understand is that many people play SWG for the BUSINESS simulation. You know, those of us who like playing SimCity or RTS games. In a business simulation, the goal generally is to amass as much wealth/profit as possible.

This is the great divider among crafters - some of you are in it just to put together droids and nothing else; you don't care about profits so you sell your droids for nothing. You are playing an entirely different game than the rest of us who are playing the business simulation side of SWG.

There is nothing wrong with working the economy in SWG as best as you can. You can't apply any of that real world guilt or moral BS to it - you aren't taking the food out of little children's mouths, or truly impacting anyone's life. What I find amusing is that if we were in the real world, making a profit seems less shameful - how many products that you buy do you pay the "cents/dollars per unit" that many people expect to pay in SWG? Do you think the computer you are seeing this on was sold to you for the cost of the resources? No, there is also labor (which I do include in my prices in SWG), overhead, and a substantial mark-up before resale. This is how some of us approach SWG - applying real world economic theories and techniques to a virtual world.

That said, to the topic at hand, THESE CHIPS LAST FOREVER.

Let me say that again.

THESE CHIPS LAST FOREVER.

Some people above posted otherwise, and it's just not true. These can be used over and over and over, and then can be resold when people are done with them. There are vendors popping up all over where people are selling burnt chips (since anyone can use any chip at this point) - and you guys are selling them for 500cr?

I proudly charged 15K for the first several weeks. I sold nearly a thousand of them at those rates, in singles and crates. When I put up my second batch, I repriced to 10K and that's where my prices are now.

I know economies are diverse between servers (though it does feel as if it has become more homogonized as time has gone on), but selling at 500cr on any server is just an insult to yourself as a DE.

They require parts that are not part of our profession (EMM's), they are indestructable, they are not "required" but are useful, and each profession right now has only a few different programs to be burnt. The big market coming up is in burnt chips, and I'll be darned if I'm going to sell a crate of these things for nothing and watch people resell them burnt for 20-30K or more EACH as I have been seeing.

I'm making millions hand over fist since JTL, so it doesn't effect me, but as I said in the flight computer thread - it seems as if the same people selling their products for nothing are the same people who are bitching about the state of the DE economy. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to make the connection there.

Finally, people like to buy from trusted sources and will pay premium for it. You know, I know, and likely they know (I'll always tell the truth when asked) that there is no quality differential between chips and computers, but when someone sees it for sale for nothing, and then one for sale at a premium price, for some reason psychologically they choose the premium priced one in many cases. They also like to support dedicated crafters like myself (DE since launch) and will always come back to you if they know you are always stocked - they'd rather come pay 10K and get it immediately from me than try to run around finding the 500cr ones (as to many people who have played this game for a long time there is no difference between 500cr and 10K - both are small change - and these are my main customers).

If you are happy with your business, then by all means continue to price however you like - give it away for free if you truly don't care about credits. However, if you feel the DE economy is "broken" in some way, or that the economy somehow is independent of you as a DE, you need to take a hard look at your role in the matter. Contrary to popular belief, the DE economy has never had a constant boon like WS or AS, but it has always been very profitable to those of us who value our products and our time. I've seen myself make a positive impact in this arena on my server - I'm always proud when I secret-shop another newer DE and see their prices up there with mine. It's partially because of me people pay 100-150K for the best combat/harvesting droids on my server. You can do it too - if you just value yourself and are willing to do the work it takes. The biggest hurdle is just ignoring other DE's and never getting into price wars - no one ever wins, and eventually the people that keep underselling themselves learn their lesson and either leave the profession or stops selling by CPU and instead sells by function as I do.

See Crusty...I told ya.

Glad you took my advice. It just makes sense. As I said in the other thread, I'd rather sell 5 v2 computers for 100K than sell 50 to get the same amount of credits.

Welcome to being a smart DE businessperson!

What's the problem? Is he/she hurting your business? It doesn't look like it if you've made 500k in a week. Don't assume that people are stupid/clueless just because their playstyles are different to yours. There are lots of different reasons to charge different prices.

Sorry, didn't mean it as an attack. I've just read too many pricing argument threads and I get a bit miffed when it seems people think they have the right to decide what other people should be charging. I probably reacted too strongly - it's late and I'm tired and probably provoke more easily. Anyway, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it My apologies,
