Thread: Price Check on advanced Probots
Do they work?? Structure modules? I have placed them in several diffrent kinds of droids and every Architech i gove them to says they do not function. They are near any other crafting stations when this accurs either.(someone suggested that was a bug also)
Am i just wasting my time making them right now?
Thank
Trezz
I have tier 4 Installaions and I use my Power Droid, that has a Structures Crafting Station. I've not had a problem using my droid since I built it, 3 days ago and I've used it to built 5 Heavy Mineral Harvesters.

Isn't dual Armor 6 a waste? Dual Armor 4 gives the same as a single Armor 6 (Medium/40% resistes). Dual Armor 6 is the same, I believe.
I tried doing that and the probot died fast......The dual 6's are the 40% resist...But I am just speaking from xp...

I use 2 level 4s for 40% resists. The droids can't die faster, unless the armor stats are reading incorrectly in the datapad.

I don't want to knock your experience, but two level 4s give medium / 40% resists.
Madcat, you are losing money selling them at 6k even though you don't realize it.
I sell my normal probots with lvl 3 armor module (max I can make) for 6k
Adv. probots with 2 lvl 3 armor modules (medium armor 25% resist) for 10k
Someone actually sent me a tell last night ... 'why is your probot so cheap?'
Here's how I base my prices:
- Resources used. Base price is 3 times # of resources.
- Use of chassis. Let's face it, chances of crit failing are double for droids that require a chassis.
- Time invested. I can easily make 2k every 5 minutes doing survey missions. If I spend 5 minutes building a droid that uses 500 resources, and sell it for 3k I'm actually losing money. At 3.5k or so I'm breaking even, but if I have a crit failure, I actually lose some 3.5k in the transaction.
wish there was an edit button.
Ok, so if a product uses a chassis, I add 20% to the base price. Then I add a markup % over the base price. So, that's how the adv. probot with the 2 armor modules goes for 10k, very reasonably priced. At 6k, it's pretty much a waste of time. Remember these are not weapons. Whoever buys the medium 40% armored probot will never come back (ok, maybe to buy some batteries)
It may be true that they never come back (till the DEVs fix the DE class and all the droids out there drop dead due to the incredibly cheap parts we used in them so far), but I have struck up a decent trade in referral business. As it is usually an hour between sales for myself (probot with crafting station/armour/med module::21k) I take the time to give the customer the utmost treatment and training. And it really pays off.
What's more I offer a trade-in service for droids, taking old ones for half-two thirds cash value so that if a novice buys a DZ70 medical droid they can come back and upgrade later. That's also paid off a couple times (as I just turn and sell them again to the next novice medic)
For any wondering why I choose 21k, it's that i started at 25k but by testing various prices above and below, I found they sell the best at this price. 17k is a great sale price as sales are much higher at that price, but 21k is the most fair in terms of ability / combat-ability I feel.
Wolfing,
I don't lose money, I have a factory doing all the work, I just show up, change the schematics or pick up droids, then sell them on vendors throughout the galaxy. I make a killing. I've got 98 Advanced Surgical Droids coming out now that are going to go for 6k a piece roughly. That's 588k for what? Me changing a schematic? I'll do that. On top of all this, I bring prices on the server down to a more agreeable level.
