Someone has been asleep for a month!!

Someone wonders that if having stormtroopers spawn in Kor Vella and changing the sky artwork constitutes a "crackdown", that the next "invasion" will be just as low-impact to gameplay.

TK, I'll be glad when you become correspondent and maybe you'll actually post this secret information you always seem to have.

With all due respect, that was then....this is now. I hope you all understand that.

You've got to be kidding me. That was last week and the week before. And did you read the confused post about Droid Armor?

If you focus on the water that's long since gone under the bridge, it will not allow us to move forward in the best way.

Seriously.

The water is still under the bridge. Apparently most questions will not get answered - this is not a dialogue, it's us talking to a wall and having no idea whether the wall understands us or not.

As of late, I've seen a 1000% increase in the amount of positive DE community energy (some behind the scenes, via forum PMs). The result of that was, quite possibly, Runesabre taking a few moments to pop in and respond on the Daker's proposal and letting us know what he could.

(note: That last item....."what he could"......is important, everyone.)

Yippee. My problem is that there has been no detailed feedback of any kind on dozens of issues. Runesabre pops in to give a brief answer to one thing and that's wonderful and happy?

Runesabre appearing today shows that they are not ignoring us, Kilarny. So just chill and be nice. Okay?

No. Positive communication is a two-way street. If SOE actually wants our input (which they have indicated) then they have a funny way of acknowledging said input.
Count the # of red-name posts on the Commando forum vs. posts on the Droid Engineer forum and get back to me.

Uhhh...actually, they have been 'about' on the DE boards quite a bit lately, man. It's true they don't post here many MANY times a day. But, they are busy...I want them working on getting the droid stuff right, not answering every tiny issue we have.

That's part of what I suspect my 'job' may be. However, I know that the DE community wants answers on the issues/concerns that are left dangling with P7 (we'll deal with P8 when we can). So, that'll be one of the first things on which I'd concentrate.

Also, what I read from TH was simply a not-very-good explanation of the essentially correct information. I think Drashk and JavelinCatcher re-explained what he was trying to say in that thread. Go check that thread and look specifically for JC's explanation. I think it will help.

With all due respect, no its not (at least, not the same water). And this is coming from me.

Apparently most questions will not get answered - this is not a dialogue, it's us talking to a wall and having no idea whether the wall understands us or not.

Well, they won't likely take the time to address each item. They never have done this for any profession. Getting more/betta' info on the P7 concerns will be one of my short-term goals as DE Corr.

So...chill.

Wow...you sound a lot like me. Have you been going back and reading my posts to get ready?

Look, no one (and I mean no one) has gotten on the Devs more than I for their level and quality of feedback. I will say that:

1) It's gotten better (despite what the naysayers may say).

2) It can never be what we'd all want (hence, the reason for a Corr. system to begin with...).

Runesabre appearing today shows that they are not ignoring us, Kilarny. So just chill and be nice. Okay?

No. Positive communication is a two-way street.

Runesabre took a walk down that 'street' yesterday. True, it wasn't pages and pages long. But, it didn't need to be. He is a busy guy and, to be honest, we WANT him back at the table working on our stuff, not hanging out here to answer every little issue and comment. I've already started to try to figure out how to get the more details on issues in the easiest and most time-effective manner.

I can speak from experience though...'getting on them' about communication isn't going to help our cause. Getting down and dirty with making the best proposals and such that we can IS going to help (note: Daker and Sodan have gotten 'eyes' on their threads due to that exact focus they brought to the table). And, even though they don't post in a thread does NOT mean that they don't watch it (again, that's speaking from experience).

If SOE actually wants our input (which they have indicated) then they have a funny way of acknowledging said input.

/sigh

Man, I've made every point that you've made above in the past. It's never about quantity. It's always about quality. They could post one time each publish if they wanted, as long as that post was the quintessential 'perfect' post that laid it all out for everyone.

I know your frustration, Kilarny. You know that I do. I ask that you take a few deep breaths and keep your head about you as we move forward.

- There are still a lot of things floating and unknown, that prevent the community from contributing as much as it could. Things that could/should have been addressed easily, weeks ago.

That's part of what I suspect my 'job' may be. However, I know that the DE community wants answers on the issues/concerns that are left dangling with P7 (we'll deal with P8 when we can). So, that'll be one of the first things on which I'd concentrate.

You mean the P7 that is already almost complete? That one? Too little, too late.

Also, what I read from TH was simply a not-very-good explanation of the essentially correct information. I think Drashk and JavelinCatcher re-explained what he was trying to say in that thread. Go check that thread and look specifically for JC's explanation. I think it will help.

I read it before, thanks JC and Drashk. But why did JC have to come along behind and "interpret" for the company that we have paid money to?

If you focus on the water that's long since gone under the bridge, it will not allow us to move forward in the best way.

Seriously.

The water is still under the bridge.

With all due respect, no its not (at least, not the same water). And this is coming from me.

Then chew on this: The question going forward is, "Can we expect a better level of communications that we have had in the past?"
- Where is the Publish 8 In-Concept Thread for droids?
- What is the true purpose of the Droid Engineer profession? To "craft a variety of useful (and deadly) droids?" /snicker

Apparently most questions will not get answered - this is not a dialogue, it's us talking to a wall and having no idea whether the wall understands us or not.

Good luck...you're going to need it.

Yes.

Look, no one (and I mean no one) has gotten on the Devs more than I for their level and quality of feedback. I will say that:

1) It's gotten better (despite what the naysayers may say).

Yes, I suppose something is better than nothing.

2) It can never be what we'd all want (hence, the reason for a Corr. system to begin with...).

I'd settle for it being what it is represented as. Right now the forums system isn't even working the way SOE stated it would. See my note on the lack of In-Concept topics on droids, above. This would be the place to generate input from all profession/style players. (Ok, the ones that are on the forums, but it's something).

Runesabre appearing today shows that they are not ignoring us, Kilarny. So just chill and be nice. Okay?

No. Positive communication is a two-way street.

Actually, I sort of wanted that TH guy to learn something about droids, communicate with the developer working on droids, and give us active feedback. Oh, wait, did I say developer? I meant developers, those people whose attention we supposedly had/have all of. Bah.

If SOE actually wants our input (which they have indicated) then they have a funny way of acknowledging said input.

Oh ok. Well most DE's stopped wondering if stuff would be hight-impact months ago.

Off topic, but anyone ever wonder how big we can build a quote-tree?

If no one minds, maybe we can find out.

I can't even remember now what this post was about. Suppose I should scroll up. Or maybe it's in the tree somewhere.

**pulls out the binoculars**

Nope I've never really wondered how big you can make them. You should see some of the ones the GAT has made. They can pretty much go on forever.

The best is when you put in a lot of blank spaces. However I shall not do this here.

I'm just wondering if anyone has thought that there may have been more time put in on the wallpaper than there was for the DE class? LOL

We're not moving forward. We're being nerfed. Yes, there's still a possibility that patch 8 will be a step forward, but right now patch 7 is looking like a complete and total disaster.

The spawn generator must havescrewed up what it was trying to tell me this week. There are three seperate 80%+ resource spawns within 800 meters of my shop on Naboo right now. All three of them are different Polymers. Clearly they were supposed to be Lubricating Oils.

Possibly quite large.

Am I looking forward to the "Invasion"? Sure. Just like I'm looking forward to seeing the Blastromechs rolling along annihilating droideka on Lok....Err...Nevermind.

Hopefully we will see more than four modules (seperate entertainer special effects modules not counted individually) in the "Droids Rebuilt" publish (AKA Publish 8).

I don't know if this is the best place for this question but I'm not sure where is.

A while ago a red name ( I don't remember who) said they would be looking at the interdependance we have on master artisan components. TK have you heard any thing about this or could you ask again?

TH stated (can't find the thread...but I DO recall it) that our interdependence to MA would either go up or go down.

Doesn't look like that's changed much, best as I can tell. I'm gonna have this (and armor and a few other things) on my short list of items to bring up next week.

P7 going live is really going to need to be my focus (as it should be).

What is there to focus on? This is a serious question. Im confused by what you mean focus on p7, its going in, like bugs etc? Or the screems of the unhappy ?
