To begin this thread by comparing a Droid Engineer to a Weaponsmith, or any other crafting profession, is ludicrous. why? [b]Because all the stuff made by other crafting professions WORKS.[/b]
Second, this thread assumes there's a "plan" concerning combat droids. There isn't. We've received some broad forward-looking statements with no specifics or timelines. How powerful will these droids be? Who can use them? How rare will the required mineral/chemical/etc materials be? Will certifications be required? Can the droid's HAM be healed as easily as p0kemon pet? Will additional components from other professions be required to craft them?
Until these questions among others are answered there is no Plan we can sink our teeth into and debate. Right now we're debating a whole bunch of guesses and assumptions.
