Another concern that I haven't seen addressed...

The Creature Harvesting Module:

I currently have a hotkey set up in my spacebar to /harv hide... makes it fast and easy to harvest as I hunt... except for one problem.

I use area attacks, usually while targetting the lair iself.

As you can see, I'm not targetting the corpses when they fall, just end up with anywhere from 5 to 15 corpses around me by the time the lair is destroyed.

the little harvesting droid I was looking so forward to won't go out and harvest automatically for me.... I have to click the corpse, and say "Harv"... then wait for it to run over... harvest... and be done before I can click another corpse and repeat...

was about 20 times faster using my spacebar.

I had truly hoped that this would be able to automatically chase down your kills and harvest em for you after they drop.

Granted, I can see how this would be a great tool for range hunters, as they would not have to chase down the corpse while they kill their next target... but for us Melee hunters, it's a bit in the lacking dept.

Thoughts on the survey droids?

heh, people are buying them like they're the greatest thing since sliced bread.... granted, they're great for narrowing down the search for things like Dolovite iron... but, um... we already knew what planet to find Tattooian Fiberplast and Lokian Wild Wheat on... *shrug*

Being a medical resourcer... LOL if it can't tell me the qualities, concentrations, locations OR keep me posted on where I can get good avian meat.. it's pretty much useless to me.

Well, no biggie, I'm sure they'll get more use eventually... too much hype for them not to. For now, people will spend millions to get some, then go back to the way they did it last week after a few uses of their new toys.

Yes, a definite "thumbs up" for Publish 8 Droids Rebuilt!

Stayed up way too late last night trying out a bunch of the different new modules while some survey droids cooked in the factory. Really liked being able to finally color the Protocol droid! Made a green one with red eyes as a merchant barker droid. Someone came up and bought it off me while putting it on the vendor!

I like being able to make display models of all the droids now too. The WED Treadwell looks good sitting on display. Even an Adv MSE Droid BOMB in red with blue bumpers looked good.

Just wish I could have more than 5 droids in the datapad as a Master DE. Can't play with the new stuff unless I break down and destroy my loyal old droids. Hate to do that.

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

Very impressed, some of the functionality is not *that* usefull but adds a lot to imersion.

To say the survey module is 'useless' is masive overstatement. SWGcraft.com doesn't always tell you when a material runs out, this saves you the expense and time of traveling to Yavin IV to find out. By the time you see it on SWGcraft.com remember someone has already grabed the best spots, in the competetive resource market that could make the droids worth the cost, in any case the price will come down soon.

All crap useless!
A new patch, what did not bring anything.

Survey droids get only a list. Thanks!
How i know, what the names are in which concentration and quality?
It is logical, that almost onevery planeti can find all sort of mineral. I dont need a droid for it!
I need a droid for investigating the concentration and sending me a waypoint!

Harvesting droids:

You have to command the idiotto each dead mob, while you are standing 5 meters away. It is simplier, if i go there myself and harvest the frickin hide. I dont need a droid for it.
I should be able to command the droid for harvesting for example hide, and it would do it alone by each dead body, while i can look for my next lair.

And it goes on and on with the other droids.

The whole thing is useless, so, as it is!

The quality of publish 8 gives me immense hope for the Squad Leader revamp. Great work, devs.

LOL I think thats so funny, just tonight while waiting in the Dearic starport I saw a Master Squad Leader, the 1st I had seen in game. I was so impressed he had it to master I gave him a free LE repair combat droid with 5955 HAM and 3 combat modules

I've got to agree. This is an awesome patch. Not perfect, but not bad either. I hit 1.2 mil day one and almost as much day two with lots of prep in advance (that which I could do anyway - why oh why didn't I make 4000 EGPs and EMMs???), reasonable prices, and patient customers. I could have done a lot more if I could have somehow kept up with demand. 6 factories running 24/7just weren't enough. I expect a lot of repeat traffic, at least for awhile, and a decent customer base in the long run. I'm finally able to make a decent living with the profession I've wanted since being in the beta.

I also really appreciate all the work put in by TK. I've been able to create a solid guide for the update to provide my guild, customers, and fellow Kett DEA members all because of that work. Keep it up!! (assuming you don't go crazy)

What to improve? Stats on survey droid reports, but not waypoints. Fix the maintenance bug (it will be I'm sure). Allow stim-b's in stim mods (don't know how medics would feel about that though). Add more barker functionality (portable vendors or at least able to provide detailed info on request). Someday a balanced introduction of high-end combat droids (but I love the new improvements). Can't think of more right now.. need sleep, which I've had too little of in the last 2 days, but it's been fun!

Oh Man! I couldn't stop working yesterday until around midnite. Had to borrow a guildmate's factory. And that was just to service the guild with droids, which they actually LOVED. Then, to my horror, I found I'd forgotten to make my toon Not Searchable. Yikes!

Now, if I just had some vertex. The struct maint 3 mod ALSO requires vertex??? Which dev's love affair with this particular rare are we treading into?

As for survey droids, just to remove the time/expense of looking at the outliers (Dant, Dath, Yavin, Endor) makes these things gold. I just hope I can make one someday.

And -- on my knees, beating my breast, and uttering multiple mea culpas -- PLEASE devs, bring us the Droid Commander profession. I want my fighter to be able to call a harvester, stim and combat droid all together.

Foobunny;

I hope you meant 3K per *charge*, not 3K for the whole Droid, 'cuz otherwise you're cutting your own throat.

On Ahazi we (a few other DE's and myself) are charging only 2K per charge, and haven't heard complaints from those who know what their time and expenses are trying to find rare materials. We wouldn't charge near this much if Vertex had even *spawned* in the last 5 or 6 weeks, and who knew back then it was going to be a required item? I may have had some then, and if it wasn't any good, might have sold it off on the bazaar for 2 or 3 cpu, I honestly don't know!

And you can NOT visit 12 planets and get a complete list of ALL minerals (or chemicals, or gas, or whatever you choose) there for 3K "total expense". Maybe 3K per planet, and think of the*time* involved waiting on the spaceshuttles, which haven't changed in the 10-minute-max-wait time.
