Thread: Someone told me i was the highest priced DE on my server today!
Don't cut your prices.... bleh
I sell what I sell based not on the chassis, but by what and how many modules I put into it. And each of those I base on the cost of the components.
If stuff is moving off your shelves, it's priced too low, if it sits there, it's too high... you want your things priced so that they sell at a comfortable rate that allows you to play and still stock the shelves.
Just an ol' retailer giving some advice.... and don't worry about your competition, they can only keep up the low prices so long.

I think that is a huge factor.
When I started playing my DE/weaponsmith, I had played one character previously, a master marksman who was level 18.
As a crafter starting out it is really hard, I remember being excited when someone bought a pair of boots I hade made off the vendor for 500 credits
Now I've gone back to that marksman and he has become a BH/carbineer. I now make 18k per mark, and it doesn't take me long to rack up a few hundred thousand credits. I have also gotten pretty good at spending them
Now that I have seen the kind of cash that even a newish BH makes (I was taking down 16k marks at like level 25), I have really adjusted my thoughts on pricing for BH droids and weapons in general. As a level 18 player I hooked up with a good grind group and made 30k in about three hours. Leaving aside the very low levels, combat classes make a lot of money.
An R3 with Lvl 6 data listed at 5,500 (in with a lot of other droids for just a few k), and a 120 Harvest droid for... one million!

OK im a MBH as my combat toon, the money I make is straight up messed up. I made 30 mil last week I spent about 3 of those days doing content missions rather than looting. I spent 100k on droids, Ive given a DE on that server an order for 2 probots, which I wanted hand made with all the very best stuff they could get their hands on for 350k each and was happy to pay it if my factory crates of seekers and arakys were costing 300k a time thats what I would pay - no questions asked, with loot like it is at the moment a MBH would pay 1 mil a crate of 25 if he had to. And still be making good money after paying for his armour \ weapons.
A MBH power gaming his loot, can honestly sit back and think to himself, am I going to buy a NS bicep with this weeks income or am I going to buy a jet pack.
I don't want to state the obvious here, but there is such a thing as communication. Wow, we're doing that right now!
Here's the situation on Shadowfire, all the prominent DE's talk to each other and make sure we're not doing boneheaded pricing. If we're all on the same page, we all maximize our profit potential (ewww, corporate-speak)and everybody wins. I'm sure that the environment on higher pop servers like Bria and Ahazi makes for a more cut-throat atmosphere, but I'm sure that there can be some common ground for the good of all DE's no matter the server. All it takes is someone willing to talk to everyone, "get the feel of the room", and propose apricing structurethat is acceptable to all parties from grizzled veteran to the most green of noob DE's.
[insert shameless plug] If you're a DE on Shadowfire and we haven't heard of you or are new on the scene, msg me or Porri in game or PM me here for more info. [/shameless plug] ![]()
