Droid Engineer Archive
Thread: Please go here and bump this until a DEV replies. Thanks guys.
We understand that communication hasn't been what we'd like it to be, but this is not going to help your cause. I'm closing this because it's seriously not constructive. We're working on getting the information you need out, as quickly as we can. I'm sorry that it's not up to the speed it should be, but we'll get there. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Not constructive? You have got to be kidding me! We are trying to get a point across. All other avenues have failed thus far. If you cant tell there are so many DE that are upset with this game because ofour broken profession that its hard for any of us to see straight because we are justifiably angryabout the way we are being treated and the state of our profession.
If you are trully sorry, and not just feeding usa PR line then do something about this.
Xahn, look at it this way. This is a game. I play this game to have fun. I am no longer having fun. Therefore....Its not rocket science.
Xahn, I am not alone. This is not a threat. This is just me stating the facts as I see them. I would like to be constructive and help fix your broken software you sold to me.ButI canonly go sofar with that help. And if you will not offer constructive ways for DE like myself and the others to help then...... ahhh forget it.
The closing of the thread speaks volumes of how they treat us.
I can feel my face burning as I type this, so I'll stop before it gets too bad.
First of all, Sintrosi, keep up the good work.
And now, a few words from our sponsor (Holocron):
Changing the subject
– Don’t answer controversies, you feed them
– New info can derail a distasteful topic
Act aggrieved
– Only works if you have built trust
Closing the topic
– Will alienate some, but will become community standard
– You need to have given enough effort to addressing issues

Sintrosi,
I posted a big, long letter to the "Holocron..." thread (which, for some reason HASN'T been closed, yet) and thought I would copy it here to be seen by anyone. (I am hoping Xahn looks at it before he closes that thread, as well..)
I tried to be as calm as possible, so it wouldn't end up like a rant, but it had you in mind. You have done some good work by us, I hope they flash the light at the end of our tunnel for you, soon.

Sintrosi's thread was just closed, so before this one is closed, as well, I would like to simply say this:
I have read Quid's thread on Constructive behavior.
I also have a complete empathy of how busy Devs and a company that handles an internationally successful Online RPG can be.
I also happen to really, really enjoy SWG, as a whole.
But I would like to repost, once more, that a need for a weekly report by Q-3PO, or anyone that has their ear to the ground of the dev's work would be highly valued on these boards by the SWG player community.
It's a shame that problems like the Droid Engineerhave to come up and seem like a tidal wave of negative feedback. Nobody wants to hear or read it, but then again, I don't believe the serious players like to post it, either.
There were many problems arising from the August patch, though I think there was, ultimately, a lot of good from it, as well, since everyone learned a bunch from the mishaps and errors that came of it. It was after all, your first BIG update since going live.
I will also add, that since then, many things have been fixed. This has also been good.
I will not stop playing because the droids were underestimated in their needs for more maintenance for the player community. I have a Dancer character who I play now and again, and I have had fun with her. I also have faith in the fact that there is, somewhere, an understanding of what a crucial role Droids played in the Star Wars movies and, therefore, what they play in this game environment, as well.
However, it appears that, in benevolently giving us player correspondents, you have opened another can of worms in being unable to answer them when the need arose.
I will no longer post criticism, nor bump this thread, but I feel that, again, the way to settle the masses is to talk to them, once in a while.
I think you have a great game here, I think you underestimated just how popular it would be, perhaps.
Good luck.

Pessimistically, they will probably ignore this, but optimistically, they might get the idea and start on my plan for weekly updates.
I suppose we shall see.

*sigh I'll add my post to the end of this for all the good its NOT doing us.
There is no excuse for closing our protest thread. Xahn, can you tell me any other way for us to protest? We do need some attention. We don't ask for much, and we wouldn't even ask for as much as we do if our profession worked properly and was usable. I do like the seeker driod bit, I can now at least sell ONE type of droid (glad I picked up master artisan though...). But I didn't even know about it until a BH in game requested one. I was caught completely by surprise. Would it have really been too much trouble to pop in, say "BTW, we're removing the BH vendors, so now you'll be able to sell SOMETHING." or at the very least put a note in the patch notes? I realize you don't have the man power to respond to every post, nor have the ability to tell us everything that is in the works, but please at the VERY least, tell us when a change has been made? Anything less than that is just insulting to us.
