1.) Do you like the current (20 charges) customization system if there were no current paintbugs?

2.) Do you makemoney off of customization?

3.) If it needs a change or improvement, what solutions would benefit both the customer and the DE? Lets here your ideas!

1.) No.

2.) No. I offer it for free.

3.) Make coloring permanent, and make a /scrapepaint command that would allow the owner to reset the droid's color back to the default.

Also, they have to get rid of all this "customization" nonsense. Call it painting or coloring, because the term customization only confuses customers.

I think the current Color system is stupid to. I think you should be able to keep the droid color the entire time and if you want it painted you can do a repaint with the tool. But I think what we should be able to do is make the Droid, then choose the color like when a Taylor makes clothes, and then create the droid. Also if the customer doesn't like the color you made it, or a customer would like the color changed later on, that we should be able to Change the color with our tool. Just my Thoughts though

20 charges? That's what the random color thing is about?

That's really dumb. I had no idea that you could only whip out your custom colored droid 20 times before the paint "wears off". Am I interperating that correctly?

Wy would they setup a system where the paint wears off a droid? I want a blue droid, make it blue. End of story. What's so tough about that? I can get green armor and it doesn't wear off (although they do bug the palate sometimes...)

the random color thing is a bug that has not been fixed. Customization has not really worked properly since it was introduced. You can get the color to stick on some models of completed and 'tamed' droids if you store them immediately after customization. Sometimes you have to color and store them several times before it sticks.

Yes, coloring wears off after 20 or so calls from the datapad. Some droids will actually show a customization rating. Most that I've ever seen were no where near 20 calls.

The idea was that DE could make money off doing customization jobs. But you can make much better money running Entertainment missions.....

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

Glad to hear from so many DEs and Non-DEs on this issue. All the posts have been thoughtful, insightful, and full of great ideas so far.

I hope TH will read these messages and makes note of them for when the devs work on droids in the next few months.

Keep it coming. The more posts we get the clearer it will show what the DE and Non-DE population wants.

Seems like just about everybody hates droid customization system. That means we should expect to see it remain exactly the same.
