Dang, guys, thanks for the great response. I don't generally check the droid forums, so didn't realize this had taken off like it did.

Ok, so here's the update. First, thanks for all the offers of replacement, but it's not necessary. At first I couldn't get ahold of the guy, which is why I posted here. Later, though, I found him again and he told me all I had to do was drag the medical module onto the droid when it was out. I tried that and a hand popped up like I could do it, but nothing actually happened. He was busy hunting at the time, but offered my money back or a new droid, put together properly. Since I did want the thing, I took the new droid. He even let me keep the old one, although I don't know what I'm going to do with it since it's already tamed and has no modules installed. I gave him back the medical module.

FWIW, the guy's name (IIRC) is Slash and we're on Wanderhome. Good guy, if maybe a little inexperienced as a droid engineer. In the end, everything turned out fine, so I have no complaints. You droid engineers seem like a good bunch, even if you have been nerfed (or at least your product has) recently. Thanks again for the positive responses.

On a related note...so, uh, even though I got a properly constructed medical mouse droid this time, it still doesn't work? I didn't even know how it was supposed to work in the first place, so thought I was just doing something wrong. So what's the deal now? Or is there already a thread about it?

Thanks again.

It should work after the put on the band-aid on wed, as of now, if you have logged or stored your droid is just a hunk of metal due to the bug. Check back wed afternoon or so and let us know if it worked.

Just to let everyone know...I am the Droid Engineer who sold him the mouse droid. Yes, I did replace the droid as was requested. I must say I am quite frustrated with the profession already. I just made novice 2 days ago and it has not been fun. These are the things I am constantly getting asked, and my responses as of late:

"Do you sell probots" (No)
"Why don't you sell Probots?" (I can't make them yet)
"Why can't you make them?" (Not enough XP)
"What does <random droid type> do?" (I really don't know)
"You're a droid engineer, why don't you know?" (do you know everything about your profession?)
"Why doesn't this droid I bought from <player> work?" (I don't know)
"Can you fix it?" (no)
"Why not?" (I don' tknow how)
"I want you to make me <random droid>" (can't, only Mouse right now)
"Mouse droids suck" (sorry)
"Why are you wasting your time making droids? They suck" (Sorry)

I started selling basic mouse droids just so I could have some spending credits to get here and there. That's where the problems came in.I was selling them with a med module for 450 which people were more than happy to pay, but I can't keep up with the questions/complaints once I sell them. I would love to help people learn how to use the droid but at one point last night I had 12 people sending me tells demanding to know how much longer it was going to take for me to make their mouse droid. Those who I didn't respond to within 5 seconds got mad and left. There really needs to be a "take a number" system or something. Those that did stick around fell into 1 of 3 groups: completely satisified and never heard from them again, completely dissatisfied because it didn't "do" what it was "supposed" to, or satisfied but continued to send me tells for the next 45 minutes asking me how do use it.

I know I'm probably sounding like a jerk and what-not, but I'm really just frustrated at this point. I spent a lot of time, credits, and effort to be able to be a novice DE but it seems that no one has anything positive to say about them. One guy was actually running through town telling people how they shouldn't buy droids from me because they suck so much. Another went off about how stupid I am for being a DE because of the Probot nerf as if I was the one who programmed it.

At this point, I am abandoning my DE pursuits for the moment and focusing on weaponsmith. I'm tired of people yelling at me for being a DE and I'm tired of getting constant tells asking how to use their droids. Someone send me an e-mail when the profession actually works. Otherwise, I demand my 28000 crafting XP and 5000 credits back.

Don't give up hope yet, all DE's go through it at some point. Something that I've done is written a mail message that I send to people who buy my droids. It's simple and explains the questions everyone has (how do you program it? how do you name? etc.) I have this mail ready to forward to anyone and everyone that needs it. I've found the best way to gain customers and referrals is to be up front, honest, and kind with customers. Many realize we're bugged, but they also realize one day we'll be fixed (I hope). It's these folks that will come back and bring their friends later. It's a lot easier to lose customer than to win one, so customer service is the key for this profession.

Welcome to hell, technopimp. If there's anything you want to know, ask. There are many here who'll be able to at least answer some of those questions.

If for some reason Fritz hits his head and on recovering forgets how to make droids on Flurry, I'd love to take the designated backup spot on crafting you a free droid.

Thanks all. Do those of you who said you have a list of answers to common questions, would you be willing to share that with me? Also, and this has been bugging me, how DO you name a droid? That is the #1 thing I get asked lately, and I'm getting tired of people yelling at me because I don't know.

Naming a droid is simple.. as well as covered in the manual....

Just program the droid with commands, make sure the name is in the command

(Droids name) follow me

(Droids name) stay

and so on

after you get 4 (sometimes more) commands programmed the name automaticly changes!

Technopimp, please count me in that satisfied category. I understand you're not responsible for nerfs, bugs, or other game related problems. I was very pleased with the way you handled the situation. I just wish didn't have to waste the resources on the first droid. No complaints on my end, though, so I hope I didn't leave that kind of impression. If you stick with DE, rest assured that I'll be buying more droids from you in the future, whenever they get the things fixed.

Guess we'll just have to see what the patch brings, eh?
