Hmm.. about what I expected..

Well instead of untraining all my DE and Artisan stuff I think I am going to stop playing SWG for a few months and play Horizons beta.. It seems to be less buggy than SWG anyway.

Only thing I don't know is whether to cancel or not... My account is payed until Oct 27th and I am on month to month now..

I am tempted to cancel after the 27th and if they delete my character then that solves the problem for me.

Anyway, Thanks for the info! Tired of this waiting.

Eventually the lawn will be cut but it will be a long ride. My suggestion? Find another profession and explore a bit for now

Well it is fall, looks like I will go rake leaves, or go play jedi Academy/medal of honor breakthrough.

Thanks for being as forthcoming as possible, albeit there doesnt seem to be anything coming, lol. I would still rather have a straight answer then someone pussyfooting around the issue.

But what really turns me off is the dishonesty coming from Holo and the Devs. The whole probot nerf fiasco followed by the CH pets has been complete mess. Holo has posted more than once "Whoah. We never saw that whole pet thing coming" (my words). BULL! There is no way that anyone can tell me that youthought people wouldn't want 10k+ HAM Rancors or AT-STs. How can you say "we need to nerf probots" while simultaneously allowing even stronger pets for everyone. CH pets are a couple thousand credsor even free!

If you think its bad now, wait until those CHs get mounts.

Can you imagine everyone riding around onbig cats and flying dragon like things? Am I the only one who can picture just how unstarwars-ish and "dungeons and dragons"-ishthe whole game will look? If a casual observer were watchinga regular playing on the game, the conversation would golike this:

1 "cool, aroll playing gamewhere you can ridedragons and stuff"

2 "yeah, its okay"

1 "Is this the new everquest game?"

2 "no"

1 "thats a nice suit of armor and sword you have"

2 "thanks"

1 "whats that little thing way over there?"

2 "thats an R2 droid"

1 "a what? whats he doing in a dungeons and dragons game?"

2 "actually, this is a star wars game"

1 "this is a star wars game?"

LOL. Good point!

I actually won't mind seeing people riding around on dewbacks and banthas, but I hope it doesn't get too carried away (i.e. - people riding those dumb ostrich-type birds or bloated gubbers).

I'm not sure why people would actually choose a creature mount over a vehicle, since vehicles can travel much faster.

Well thats because vehicles won't be coming out for a LONG time, at least 2 months, and at least 2-3 more months before our beloved DE profession is fixed.

Well, that might seem to make sense, but in game mechanics we have to account for the fact that anybody can own a swoop, while only a CH can tame and use a creature. Until we get a certification system to prevent low-level players from exploiting vehicles, they're going to be capped at burst-run speed, 1km maximum range and a maximum of 40% medium collision resistance. Because CH is its own certification system, there will be no such caps on creatures, so for the forseeable future, if you're going to enter a swoop race, you should probably ride a dewback. Which you'll be able to do because we're going to let Creature Handlers sell low-level mounts to anybody.

Oh, and just as a heads-up, when the Space Expansion comes out, we've got two words for you: Hyperspace Bantha.

The dev's (I think it was Greenmarine) stated that you won't have to be a CH to ride the creature mounts, so anybody will be able to have them. And they are limited to BR speed.

Do any of you think that sending letters to Lucasarts, or it's affiliates, whomever would have authority to direct SOE, and tell them of our concerns with the content of SWG?

I mean, really we're suppose to be able to "Live in the Star Wars Universe", but this is not what I imagined that universe to be.

I don't remember seeing 10,000 Gungans fighting 10,000 cowardly gurrecks....or one CH and his pet Rancor.

And if you think about it, what was Annikin's first profession?....He was a DROID ENGINEER, if you want to use SWG mechanics to describe him. And a master DE too, if he was able to make a 3PO droid. Following that line of thought, you would also expect that vehicles would belong to the DE class, because he built those too. Either that or he dual-classed with some as-yet-unknown profession.

I'm tired of being frustrated with the broken and ignored DE class. This has become a major content problem where the SOE team has deviated too far from the Star Wars universe. I think their bosses need to know our concerns.

I'm not a DE but I am suprised that there are not more droids in SWG as it is a staple of the SW movies and books. They nerfed them so that Creatures are more popular and made creatures so they don't get Killed just slowly degraded.

Machines should be more long lasting and replaceable than living things. And they should be everywhere in the SWG universe.

Second I believe I read someone else state and I agree that DE should be given the ability to craft and repair not only Droids but also Vehicles, when vehicles come out.

There is the small chance that no news means no attention which leads to less being done.

They are focused on an expansion before the primary game is ready to do the basics of the SWG.

The limitation on droids is stupid and unrealistic considering people can run out there and pick up 3 animals (with one of them even being a rancor) 3 npc's to command with their faction and bring a single droid with you to heal wounds after everything has been killed? Does anybody else think this is "beast wars" instead of "star wars" right now?

Episode 1: all droids are under the command one and only one person. I can't count them all, lets just say "army" and leave it at that. He owned them all, commanded them all from a distant location, had ships galore defending him controlled by droids. WE GET A SINGLE DROID WHICH IS NOWHERE NEAR CAPABLE OF TAKING OUT THE THINGS THEY WERE DESIGNED TO. How about they fix the limitation on droids first? If you can afford it, you can own multiple droids. Luke's farm had at least 6 droids on it before 3po and r2 showed. The Death Star had hundreds of droids per section working on everything from maintenance, communication, pathfinding and some even were just there for emergencys and standing by waiting for a use. Darth Vader had a IT-O interrogation droid when he walked in on leia. Does that mean he couldn't own the droid cleaning his room, pressing his spare cape, maintaining his personal shuttle?

As it is right now Iwould be totally satisfied with just that. It would not make droids more powerful than everything but it would make droids a bit more real to the SWG theme. I wonder how many current probots it would take to down a rancor???

Sintrosi, think you could make them make the after-patch droids tame-able again? I mean...that is how we make our living.

hi all.

just wanted to say this.... as if the arguement didn't need to be emphasized any more.

this evening 3 friends and myself (an almost master droid engineer with absolutely *no* experience fighting) with 2 creatures.... that's 5 of us.

again.

i need to really emphasize this. 3 fighters, a crafter, and two creatures.

we took out a master dark jedi.

now... i don't know exactly which star wars universe this is suppose to be, but this not what i thought star wars should be like. these creatures are just too powerful, and droids don't do anything.

life is fundamentally unfair.

if there are by chance any unbelievers, i have screenshots.

Actually, from what I hear a novice marksman with a CDEF pistol can kill a dark jedi master. The reason why is that the fastest speed they go is a quick walk, while the player can just keep running and shooting.
