Thread: Bursting into Tears over Droids

So it would just give the end result of using lvl 6's? Exploit for certain, but what real advantage did that give other than resources and time in making the droid, capablities were the same as an all lvl 6, right?

Cluster Stacking:
You could make a 3 clusters full of level 2 item modules (or any module) and put those three clusters into another cluster. You could do this out to infinity. Since the clusters stack up to the equivilrnt of a level 6 module, you could in effect make level 6 quality modules by stacking an infinite number of lower level modules. This would be useful only for droids that accept clusters like the R2, R3 and ADV Surgical.
It is my opinion that this was an exploit, since it clearly defied the intent of the droid crafting model. But since so much of DE is broken, who's going to complain about it? It is fixed now, and can no longer be done.
It was an exploit if you consider bugs in undocumented features exploits (I don't, since a DE had no way to inform him/herself that it wasn't intended). People can say "It's obvious!" but to many people it was not. They simply thought it was a benefit of gaining the cluster schematic.
Personally, I only ever stacked before the proper resources were available on my server (we literally could not make level 5-6 item storage until a couple of months ago). Even then, I only combined two level 4's - I'd rather gather more resources than deal with even more components.
Since my biggest problem was filling up a droid in the first place with enough modules to fill all the slots (this was before multiple crafting stations worked), I never made a "super" MSE or used that side of the bug - simply because I have never sold an MSE.
