Hey Malkuth - let me guess, youre on Eclipse

You got your asking price you should be a happy man

Plus I can make some money on them as well

(yes I am that merchant)

On a more serious note - if more DE's actually tried to retain some integrity in their prices I'd be out of a job and youd be making lots more money, but I guess some of you are only interested in the grind (this isnt directed at Malkuth btw)

I'll quadruple the price of my seekers if they now have 10x the effectiveness. This would place factory crates at 12k for 5 seekers (50 uses -- 240cr per use).

Well, simply put, its going to be easy to get undercut if you charge to much... but when this goes live (if these conflicting stories ever get straightened out ) I plan on charging 1k per seeker if the devs set them up at the origional 5 charges they said it was going to have. If they have a full 10 charges... well, in that case, I'll watch the prices around my area and see what looks good. Reguardless, I'm not going to bother if I can't sell them for at least 850 each. The ideal price IMHO is around 1500-1700 given the resources and trouble it takes to make them... But I doubt I'll get that much =P

Dormax, right now I have them for 1k each. Which is basically costing me money. The same resources and components in an R2 bring me way more.

So, when they implement the charges, prices will go to 1500 each. Same profit margin as on the other stuff I make.

I've had a trusted BH customer of mine inform me that charges are in fact, not in on our server.

There is a lot of discrepancy in pricing here...from 450c to 12000c. Bottom line is this, is it worth it to me to make these droids at 450c when I can use those resources to make a droid that sells for 20k? It is the same reason I don't really build anything below an R5 anymore. I usually tell people to find a novice DE. I don't necessarily like passing up the business but between stocking my vendor and fulfilling custom orders for my merchants and personal tells, I spend almost all night making droids for people and I would rather spend that time making droids that sell between 7-35k than a bunch of droids that sell for 1k.

Some of you may say "Then use a factory". Well I do. I almost never build components from scratch anymore now that mechanism quality is built in. I build a good schem and let it rip in my factory so it is already running all the time making killer droid components. This is one of the reasons I charge a little premium for my droids...I always use good quality components.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be snobbish or anything but it would be bad business for me to sell seekers for 450c or even 1000c. If a BH ask me for an couple crates I would probably cut him/her a deal. Otherwise I would probably ask him to contact a novice.

What I think most people are missing is that there is some premium paid for my time as a Master DE. My time *should* be worth more than a novice and my products *should* cost more than the same product of a novice. I know that being a novice sucks and it is entirely WAY TOO hard to make money on our wares. I think of this as throwing a bone to those poor novices out there...am I giving up customers...maybe, repeat business...maybe but I always tell them I will make what they need in a pinch but give the novice the business if they can.

Just my 2c worth.

I talked to a few BH on my server last night to confirm that they now had multiple charges. The ones that could tell me said they did not see mutliple charges for the ones I made fresh for them last night.

So, NO, they do not have mutliple charges on the live servers yet. Who ever posted that they now have mutliple charges did not verify this before posting here. Again I confirmed this last night.

Things that pointedto this as jumping the gun that I noticed was the Dev thread they cited was entitled, "A few bounty hunter things coming up." Now this says to me that they aren't here yet, doing a little more research indicated that, "as of today," probably meant the TC patch. People didn't really try to confirm till a good ways down the page and by then it was a good as written in stone to most.

If this is live already... my guildmate got quite a deal for the crate of Arakyds and crate of seekers I made him tonightfor 4k. He did provide the steel though, and I got more familiar with using my new factory...

So, do they have 10 charges now?

If I produce a crate of 5 does that mean 50 uses before the crate disappeers? Or does it mean when they take one out of the crate it lasts for 10 uses before it disapeers and they have to remove another one?

Dude, you're replying to a 5 month old message, that freaked the hell out of me.

Yes, seekers have 10 charges, and arakyd have 5

but there is a bug so you never have to buy another seeker at Investigation 3

LOL.. first of all.. a big S! for you finding this post instead of making a new one.

As for crates. Yes its 5x10 seekers in a crate. Thus "50 uses".

Come on guys, this is WAY OLD NEWS. Seekers have had 10 charges for some time now, and probes have 5. Its like this. Its been like this. Over a month at least. I sell them by crates of 5, seekers for 12.5K a crate and probes for 15K a crate. I cant keep my store onKettin-stock even at those prices. Too much? Think about it, one crate of each costs 27.5K but is more than enough for 15 missions, 20 if you know what you are doing ... they get paid at LEAST 12K per mission, plus the experience up thier needed track. I dont get complaints on what I charge, I get compliments. The people selling on the bazaar for less can enjoy the company of thier starving children as they manually work the harvestors that ran out of maintenance and energy a week ago
