They don't care about a boycott because your still paying to play their game.

That's all they care about, the $$. As long as you continue to subscribe, you are a happy customer in their minds.

They aren't wrong. That's the way the world works.

The only way that we could "force" them into making changes qucik is to boycott the game ineraly (not Pay anymore) but we all know this wont happen.. I like this game alot i love droid eng. and other people wont boycott i mean we still pay them if we boycott in the game dont we?? I know that this is a bad idea and idont want to boycott them. This is an online game to. it will evole one day into a great game. maybe eheh.. but al we need to do is to just give good feed back to dev. I love/hate this profession. every day i have some one ask me can i build them a combat droid and i say there is no good one yet. and i highly recomend that they wait. if the still want one i charge them around 80k for them. so it will evove and hope fuly that will be soon. because im tired of truning down buyers becasue im to nice. hehe

Any kind of strike or sales boycott will not work because the only guys who would be pissed off will be Bounty hunter as they are the only "regular" customer to DE any other kind of droid is easily "by-passable" and many people do not use our "utilities" droid or already have one that not really decay so not being able to buy one will not really stuck the game.

As droids are really unusefull it will change nothing to stop the production, it will just make losing days of "play" for DEs ...

Wow, i am honored that TK looked at this and commented!!!

/bow respectfully

Okay, so this won't work. I'm cool with that - but TK you gotta realize we need to do something. Please if somebody - anybody has any ideas PLZ POST THEM!!! Orare you saying that this a hopeless cause and i should just move on to a non-broken profession that the SOE developers happen to like?? Folks, i never said this was a great idea - i just wanted opinions.I am sick and tired of being frustrated and abused by SOE. (btw i sell droids for furniture too, but if that is what we have to stoop to make sales - and what our poor profession is know for, then i should just quit now)

Digital - Man, you could not have put our plight more elegantly!!! Truly Epic Posts!!!!!

/bow honorably

It is a shame that SOE can't see the truth in this, and it is a shame that one of the best communities of players will probably disintegrate into nothingness thanks to the rough mistreatment of the lovewe have forour droids.

Thanks, i appreciate your comments

Theres a phenomenon in these types of games, a lifetime is paraphrased in9months. In our participation we establisha connectionbetween ourselves and a fictional realm and fictional circumstances. But theres a thin line between ourselves and the game which demonstrates absolute reality. We live lives Vicariously at our conveniance that reflect our commitment according to a set of rules and numerical values. Though progress we attain satisfaction. Success is the perpetual carrot on a stick, meaning is achieved though the search if not attainment of contentedness. Dispite the games complexity no simpler a playing field could be imagined where these themes are easier to recognize.

Have you ever looked back objectivly on your character, or even your life and said "Boy i sure did screw up there" or "Well i sure did turn out alright". Theres always something suppriseing. You'd be suppriesed at the conclustions you come to after alittle intro/retrospect. When i look back at this mini-life time, its obvious ive come along way since i started in august. Ive sold alot of droids. And i dont think i made to many mistakes, no big ones atleast. Some would say becomeing DE was a mistake, but no, dispite the limitation i am satisfied in a wierd way. We're a starved profession, buti wouldnt have it any other way. With all its twists and turns ive found my way out of the labrinth. And i look back and say "Hot damn i was lucky" (Ifelt the same way the day i turned 20, and when the Berlin wall fell)

Back to the topic

I dont think were angry, it being a game after all, i think the fewest of us loose sleep over DEs. We just want to be what we're ment to be. But were not going to sit around and let ourselves be twisted into something awry. Strikes, boycotts, what have you, might not be successfull, maybe even detramental. But they sure do feel good. We're an unsatisfied bunch, when it comes to changes. And we're not the kind of people to sit idly by, and take whats happening with stride. Like it or not, be it worth it or not. I want to see a strike. Because what we have in excess is discontent, to shout out our claims in a public level is a means by which we can express this passion. To do so, dispite any consequences is rewarding personaly.

Again German Indy rock applies

In the words of Dirk von Lowtzow & tocotronic transalated poorly by me and riped from context gracelessly

In the bowels of this oh so unguided city

Burns a fire with the wish for irresponsibility

This takes place in our journy though this short time

The twinkling fight of the masses in the streets

what unifies us is less in commen

As the journy though this short time

Turns us into something we cant forgive

We are not alone

The cloud of uncertenty

will be with is forever

Maybe we are what they dream

One cannot see the forestbecause ofall these trees

The thicket as a thicket

Where roads are more like paths

we are not alone

The cloud of uncertenty

will be with us forever

Honestly I am to the point now where I dont even bother attempting to gather resources as I cant afford to run the harvesters with my 0 sales. I am going to wait for the next publish and if things dont improve any I am going to drop the Skill all together or just drop the game completely.

Every sence I heard about this game there was a few professions that I wanted to do still something I want to do but honestly its no fun being a crafting profession when no one wants what droids you have to supply.

Yea.. its kinda sad that I have to be combat profession to support droid engineering. At the moment, I'm just doing custom orders to be nice -- I mean... I can probably make more money killing mokk bases than i make selling that 30k droid. But you can probably sell droids pretty easily if you walk around w/ your master DE tag on -- though you'll get a bunch of requests for non-existant combat droids .

Sadly, I do walk around with my MDE tag up - and still sell droids rather infrequently. If it were not for the several BH's that keep me in business with my seekers / probe droids - I would be losing creds on a regular basis to DE. Luckily I have picked up Architect, which makes more than enough money to cover everything else. Of course this brings up the realization of how truly broken DE is. Master Armorsmiths, Weaponsmiths, Architects, Chefs, and to a somewhat lesser extent Tailors cannot peddle their wares fast enough. Conversely we DE's must take extreme steps to sell our products, in some cases even trying to give away free droids just to generate interest. Granted, I sell more droids than most struggling DE's i have met, and the bulk of my business is Med droids and BH droids. Now that the novelty of Pub 7 has worn off I have crates of combat droids collecting dust, since NO ONE wants them anymore

As for discontent, well I honestly don't believe I or anyone else has the words to truly express my discontent with what SOE has done to and for the DE profession.

heh...I walk around with my Master DE tag on always. And, I even put a wandering droid in Coronet advertising for me. 90% of the /tells I get are: "Can you train me? I am working a holo for DE." haha.

I do have to say that most of my business is selling Chassis.

I did have a good idea. I made an R2-D2 and a C-3PO and put them in my shop. Then I basically advertise that as the "Movie Package" and sell it for x amount of cash. This brings in an unusually goodamount of business. I guess people like having C-3PO and R2-D2 standing in their living rooms. hehe.

To original poster:

I do like the boycott idea, but implementation would be too difficult. For one thing, not all DE's read this forum, it would be difficult to get the info to everyone. For another thing, there will always be that scoundrel who will sell you out and sell his droids. While a good idea, this idea of boycotting would be very difficult to implement, and enforcing it would be even more difficult or even non-existent. No one is going to hate a DE for selling his droids.

guess it has something to do with server... I can't keep up with my orders, if I've got the time I can easily sell 8-10 droids a day.
