actually, I think (not positive since I haven't made a probot withouta combat module in a week or two on TC) that they keep their built in combat capability, just no damage. So, you can make a new probot with 300 more HAM, item storage, medical, and 3 crafting stations for no more than it would have cost you to make the old probot plus the additional modules...
Sodan got the 411 on this before me...

The crafting nerf is going live on Tues. but will be reverted by a hot-fix on Wed.
Good catch, Sodan.

Respectfully,
NOTE to all concerned:
Up till now, pre-nerf has been sacred.
Now we learn that Probots will be retroactively nerfed..and thats official. (even thought the OFFICIAL advice WAS to stock up (*Comforts Audio*)
So....the prestocking may or may not be wise. I'm not doing it, I'm not buying anything to stock up, weapons, armour or anything. We have seen they can do it and will do it..so it is not worth the risk IMHO.
Everyone must make their own decisions on this.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but if the pre-nerf probots are going to function exactly as the new ones, wouldn't making the old ones with a lot fewer components (i.e. combat modules) be not only a lot easier but also cheaper?
If so, my factories will be running 24/7 on old probots asap.

Uhh...no, they won't. Probots only have 2 module slots.
