I think your prices are a bit high. I'd be comfortable selling that droid at most 30-35k.

Of course, if most/all of your work is custom, then it's perfectly fine to charge a premium, it's just you have to go with what your customers want and are willing to pay. I should be hitting master this week, (just a couple skill boxes to go, steel willing) and some of my customers will be a tad alarmed when my prices jump. However, at that point I will be taking a lot more time insuring they get quality above all (hell, it's got to count sometime in the future I hope).

Right now, my business is aimed at mostly just keeping my harvs running and keeping me in flashy new guns. So, I don't charge a premium, but my droids aren't made with the best materials. Of course, this hasn't hurt me much considering droid quality right now doesn't mean much at all.

Personally, I think our profession charges too much and justifies it with "the customer will pay what they want to" and "this stuff take a lot of time to make". Point one is a slippery slope; point two is moot if you factory produce subcomponents, which I'd wager a lot of us do. If my crates are stocked I can make an advanced R2 in like 5 minutes.

*Shrug* just my opinion. I think we can give our customers fairer prices without hurting our profit margins to any noticeable extent. Hell, how much more company does the millions in your bank need?

Stacking seems to work for me. 1 lvl 1 medic unit gives a rating of .35. I put 2 in and got .55. It didn't double like it should have, but it did increase. And dosn't 1 lvl 1 data give you 10? I put 2 in a mouse and 2 in a DZ70 and both times got 20 data units of storage.

I use the following pricing scheme.

1.65 cpu on resources i mine my self
4 for resources i don't mine myself.
round that up to the next 100 (people like nice even numbers)

for each component assembly step needed I charge 100 for blueprints 1, 200 for blueprints 2 etc.. (I don't factor in asembly of modules thats additional cost by function)
thats the base cost.. then I add

for each module i multply its level by 200,
for each crafting station its 800

so for the same R2 Unit My price is 14,900 or a rush order(where i'll have to buy it may go as high as 25K

With perma death I may only charge 200 per assembly for probots which puts those at 3,500cr at 300 its 4,600cr, not there yet haven't decided.

Seekers and Probes is a different story as they are one shot uses and they are bugged.. and i able to reduce labor costs by automation..

I REALLY wish people would stop quoting crafting prices in "cost of resources". It has little to nothing to do with cost of resources. Now, I personally like you guys who price based on resources. You will never make enough money to be a threat in the marketplace. I'll always find you scavaging for that next sale.. digging up that elusive component. You will take 4 hours to make a bot you will sell for 2 hours work.

Just about anyone can make 30k in an hour. I guarantee you if you calculate all your time in surveying, placing harvesters, shopping for resources, collecting resources, making components, building the Droid and marketing the Droid you have a LOT more than an hour in it.

Sure you are getting your money back for your resources, but your TIME in getting the skill and most importantly making the Droid is going for free. Your time may hold no value, but mine does.

I sell my Droids for more than you and I likely sell more Droids than you. My money is re-invested in factories and harvesters. I have miners who work for me because they know I move enough Droids to be able to keep them busy. Everyone wins. I know, I know you will talk to me about how "fair" you are being. Well I have news for you. Most players don't value 30k anymore than they value 10k, the difference for them is 30 minutes.

.5575 is .35 + (1-0.35) * 0.35

so if you could put a third one in i'm sure it will be

.5575 +( 1 - .5575) *0.35 or about .712

Should every single person be able to afford a Droid? Should I give away my time so they can have one? Is it wrong that would have to work hard to get a Droid? If I remember my Starwars correctly not everyone had one.

Is Droid Engineering a low class profession or a respected one? If the going average wage is 30k per hour should a Droid Engineer be above or below this wage in your opinion?

As was pointed out above, the resource based price or the time based one is arbitrary. However I tend to believe that a Droid Engineer should at least make an AVERAGE wage not a minimum wage.

Check your server... determine average wage and at least make what everyone else is doing. You have chosen the second hardest profession to master (maybe even the hardest given the big things Architects can make.) You deserver at least average wage or MORE.

Why sell 3 Droids to make 50k when you can sell one? Ok so two people didn't get Droids, well that makes them special, as they SHOULD be IMO.

What amazes me is that there are 3 master DEs on Naboo (Chilastra) that can sell for those prices. So, obviously there are people willing to pay I'm just amazed that you all ended up on Naboo ..hehe

50k that would be great, but for me i sell mine around 15-18k with stacked med mods and crafting stations. Also remember servers make a differance for the economy standards. Plus im a casual gamer I dont have time to hunt down the the rich all day so i sell cheap and fast.

The only pain I'm having is the fact i'm missing lots and can't harvest all the resources i should be able to.. I may end up dumping my harvestors all together and then just buy my resources. and with my servers economy my costs for resources will go to 4.5 per. I may switch back down at a later date.. after the economy stablizes and my lots come back. but 9 days is way too long without that supply. My labor costs will stay the same.. so i'll still be selling less then most of you.. but at least i won't have to worry about harvestors.
