So in order to get the Droid Head schematic for myself I have to go and get JTL and get a bunch of pilot skills. I thought the space game wasn't supposed to interefere at all with the ground game

JTL yes (not sure how the mission will deal with you if you dont have JTL..) but the space part is laughably easy (all Tier 1 spawns IIRC) its the ground part that is the hard part! (certainly for players who are primarily crafters anyway...)

And for those wondering, when you get to the "Black Sun Camp", you need to kill a certain amount of Black Sun types in order to pass that part of the mission. Check your journal for specific numbers. You can wipe out the whole spawn there, but you might have to wait there until the next spawn to complete the number of kills you need. You will get notification when you complete the kill count.
And the space mission can be completed if you are at least a tier2 pilot. You have to kill a freighter with an escort of fighters and one gunboat (all tier1).
FYI, I have my wonderful little droid head sitting in my shop now. I named it "Disembodied Ticket Collector Head". It sits on the ground, next to it's body.
I might have to go back a few more times to get a couple more schematics.

Ummm Rasal? when I tried talking to C-3TC again, he doesn't start you over again. You can go with multiple characters, but until they put in a Record Keeper on Naboo, I don't think there's a way to do this one more than once per person.

Serious? Oh man, that sucks! So much for a market commodity... 
I guess that makes it worth a little more (assuming the darn thing can be traded).

I completed the mission easily...for my Master Rifleman/CH...for a crafter, get help.
I put the droid body with the droid head lying on the ground behind it near my "butcher vendor" (I sell organics there, have him dressed up in an apron and chef hat weilding a heavy axe)...looks good.
I can confirm that you can not repeat the quest, and the schematic is one use, no factory support...
The upside? If you buy a bunch of body deeds and make them, offer to craft the head for free with purchase of a body....

And there is no Space part of the quest, which someone mentioned earlier in this thread.
Now to find a DE to complete the schematic
I got a blue rug adhesive as well as did the gentleman who told me where to start the quest at

I must confess to being slightly confused now - the droid head schematic is the 'reward' for finishing the space part (since you get the rug adhesive for the ground part) - how can you 'skip' the space part yet still get the reward?I'd expectthe NPC at the crash site wont give you the next part (the memory wipe - which gives you the schematic) until you've completed the space part??????

the bug with the second black sun spawn is if you kill the npcs before going through the "staging camp" wp and getting the success message for getting there. if you do this all you have to do is walk through the wp and then move 500m away or so to initiate a respawn, (sorry, the respawn is on a timer so you'l have to just wait) then kill them again.
