Thread: Market Saturation Point Reached Sales back down to Attrition Rates
As a customer, I have to say I'm more than happy with all my new Droids. The new combat droids are awesome. I've go an R2 combat, aswell as a probot, for the lightning graphic (I hope they fix this as you only see the graphic perhaps 1:20). I also have a harvest/trap droid, who is as amusing as he is useful, plus a few crates of survey droids.(quick plug for Oroo, Corbantis) ![]()
I suspect the Devs know that people can get as attached to their droids as CH do their pets, so I'm wondering if that is part of the equation in making the droids virtually immortal. If they made modules that could fit in an existing droid, they could have decay on the modules to a much higher extent. This would provide repeat orders without killing off somebody's favourite droid. I'm not suggesting an ability to swop different modules, otherwise people would only buy one chassis, but exchanging like for like.

Well, seems the utility droid party is over. From what I can tell, sales are back down to the player attrition rates on Eclipse. It's corney to say "I told you so" but I'm doing it. Everyone has their everlasting droids and the market on Eclipse appears saturated. Now begins the attrition of all the new droid engineers who jumped on board expecting to make huge $$$. I'll give it a few months for the only ones left of us are the old die hards. I'm not trying to make this post a flame. I'm just stating the market the way I see it going right now. Even the new bomb droids are borked. Uses such rare resources that you have to price accordingly. And they are so class restricted that the customer base for them is small. The report that the Interplanetary Survey Droid gives isn't enough to create a demand for those either. They and the bomb droids are sitting on the vendors gathering dust. So much for renewable markets. Back to the same old crap.
I don't know what your selling, or if your selling crappy slapped together droids, but I sold over 800K in droids in 24 hours yesterday ANDI don't want to sell anymore. I can't keep upwith demand on the harder to make droids as it is (especially R3's configured several different ways). The market hasn't seemed to have peaked here yet at all. It is much much much better than it was prior to this patch. I have to agree with a lot of the other posts. It must have to do with location primarily and reputation next.

Now, I see players advertising that they have all these droids left over on their vendors cheap...while they are no longer DEs. When will it ever end? Seems like every profession is or has been hurt by grinding.

Dude... Give me a break. I've been in business since the launch. I have a stockpile of the best resources that has every spawned on Eclipse... I can cap the limit on every stat on my droids. Open your eyes and realize that yes, there are some YOUNG servers where the player base isn't about 90% triple masters and have yet to experience the market trends that Eclipse does.
Well, time to park this thread. It's just turning into a yada yada fest. Point has been made. TK is on the job. Enough said.

Wow, did you need an MBA to figure that out? LOL.

AO, you know this fake superiority of yours and over compensating looking down your nose at everbodyis getting old. It's not hard to see through this BSto some huge chip you have on your shoulder. I've gotten into some scraps here myself but you seem to be trying to pick a fight on every single thread you post on. I have no idea what it is, but do you mind leaving it at the door when you come to the forum?
Arden, from your other responses in this thread I'm going to assume you were having a bad day.
If from my entire post above the only thing you found to comment on was my initial reaction to your pompous declaration, I guess you didn't have any real points for discussion after all.
I'm sorry if I offended you - but it was a joke. Saying that the market would die down was pretty obvious - as I said above, it would be like me posting today "The sun is gonna set tonight guys...and tomorrow, it will rise again!" and then coming back the next day to proclaim how right I was. Again, as I said above, so what?
Here you come into the form spouting "The market is dead" and "I TOLD YA SO!". If that isn't a false superiority I really don't know what is - especially since many of the people who have posted have seemed to disagree with your conclusions.
I simply provided an alternate viewpoint here, one you have yet to counter. Perhaps this is a viewpoint on the situation that you didn't want to see? If you are having a hard time selling droids, let people help you who are selling droids and who have many happy customers who thank us constantly. If you'd read what people have said in this thread from a more objective position I bet you could get a lot of info to help you market and sell these droids you are unable to which led to your posting this thread in the first place.
When you come in here telling me my profession is in trouble and I don't believe it to be so, I think it's perfectly valid for me to post about it.
Now, Arden, that you have gotten your personal insults out of the way - we have established you don't like my personality, but do you have a real response to what I (and others) have said to you in this thread to back up your claims?
Or are you going to continue pouting and lashing out against people? The only replies to the original posting you have made have been raging flame-fests or comments that have nothing to do with your original statements.
Should we assume that the whole thread was just a big whine/flame since you have yet to actually discuss the topic past a few pithy generalizations that many people don't seem to agree with? Yes, we need decay...but other than that many people are finding many uses for these new droids, both combat and utility - I think you just need help finding the right customers.

I don't feel I have to counter your arguments. Your in the minority here. Just scroll back and count up the other people's post. Even TK posted and is seeing declining sales. Sorry, but I don't feel like satisfying your aggressive need for debate so stop attempting to bait me. I'm too old and too tired for it. Go work out your frustrations on someone else. All I want out of this is condition decay on droids addressed which as per TK's post, will be done. And that's not just condition decay on combat droids but all droids.

Speed sliced VK help alot unarmed brawler, even without cert, but they still do far less damage than a TKA.
