I sometimes leave the game running all night while I sleep and do my own add barking. my firts night I got told off by a player cos I was spamming the area, I sent him an email , apologised and changed the /pause from 60 (what I thought was an acceptable pause based on how often everyone else seemed to shout) to 1800. result = loads of business, and an email saying thanks for the apology
point of this post 30 - 60 seconds is not an acceptable time span for ad barking. 20 minutes or so is. I suppose it also depends on where you do it as well. Does anyone have any idea on good locations for ad barking?

I avoid player cities, even the busy ones and the merchant ones. I sell stuff to new jedi, so I usually hit Coronet, Theed (lots of people) and Dath (for the village people). Guess it depends on what you're selling...

Speaking from personal expierence, spambots are more effective when used then when they aren't. I've had periods where I haven't made it into Theed to put one out for a while and sales dipped as a result. I'm not saying my sales are steller to begin with, but I got almost no sales when I wasn't actively advertising. A spambot is convient because it lets you
1. Give a brief (very) description of what you have and/or why somebody should shop with you
2. Gives the user the ability to get a waypoint in their datapad w/out having to type the /waypoint command and possibly fat finger the coords.
3. Small, sure, but gives the ability for a little roleplay. I have a protocol droid that I sometimes put to work as a barker that asks very respectful in a leading sort of way... something along the lines of: Need a droid? Shiring Manufacturing has over 60 droid in stock... I can give you waypoint if you wish...
I tend to think of the barker droid as more like a billboard than a TV commercial. It's right there as you're driving down the road if you bother to read it or not.

Precisely my point.
We should have the option to choose to read them or not. As it is, we currently have no choice in the matter.
Like I said, I'm not in any way asking for a nerf to you guys, I just want a button which allows me to ignore advertisements.

Just buy one. The only requirement to use it is Advertising 4. You need that skill to access the Toggle Bark On/Off. Follow the instructions it gives you

Once you buy one, call it. You'll see new options on the droid's radial menu. You can set a waypoint for the droid (from your waypoint list), tell it what to say (you say something, it learns it), and tell it to start spamming. You can also program it like any other droid so it can stay put or pace back and forth (patrolling between 2 waypoints). Good luck.

One more thing. When recording your message d onot make it too long. The droid will not record it if it is, took me a while to figure that one out. Some times i just try to give too much information, but i am trying to work on that habit of mine. Really i am ....... stopping now.

I think these questions have been answered before, but
a) a merchant 3--- can program waypoint and barker message
b) only a merchant can turn on the barking.
c) waypoint, once set, will be working, also for non-merchants
d) droids cannot be re-deeded
