Droid Engineer Archive
Thread: Droids: Where we were and where we’re going.
Ok no one liked my last droid idea, so how about this one.
Seperate DE from the Artisan Profession but keep it a tradeskill profession.
Make the Droid Engineer a Basic Profession that deals in the creation of the types of droids we have now, as well as combat droids up to a functionality of lv10-15.
After attaining Master DE, have them able to gain skill in the Droid Commander Advanced Profession, which focuses on droid combat, and Droid Commander only Droids. Probot Droids and Battle Droids would be examples of DC only droids.

How about Add Barking droids being able to actually have some options for customers in a radial menu, things like Email Me a Waypoint, and the person asking gets an email to where the shop is located. Some nice customer service things like that.
Also, is there any concern that fields of droids are going to cause massive lag in cities, such as outside the Starports in Coronet and Theed, like it was the day after vehicles were released (and still continues to this day at least). Lots of advertising droids could cause some troubles.

An off-planet survey droid would be cool. It could bebased on the BH off-planet tracker droid, you launch it and it relays an email/entry in datapadback to you that lists what resources are present on the target planet.
I love this idea! Infact,I give it 1 lightsaber up!
I amdissapointed... I was hoping for the Droid Commander profession to be added and really looking forward to switching from Creatures to Droids at that time... I'm also not happy that everyone can now have two CL10 combat pets(droid & creature)at the same time.. Makes me want to give up on any type of pet class.
Just my two credits.
Seeker droids can be used unlimited times from Investigation III in the BH tree.
Thus, it won't create a new market if you need seeker droids for Jedi BH missions.
From the buglist:
T. EXPLOIT: BH droids can be exploited as to not use their final charge.
So please, fix this bug too
There's some interesting ideas in this thread. Here's my pet peve about droids:
The power charge is way too short. Let me add batteries to my droid like I add quarters to a parking meter. Heck, let me add a crate of batteries so I don't have to worry about power for a long time. This eliminates an aggravation and grows the artisanbattery market (if it's easier to use droids, droids will get used more, and power demands will go up).
Increasing the length of a single charge will not address my issue. I do NOT want to stop and pull a single charge out of my pack every 20 minutes, 30 minutes, or even every hour. Let me use multiple charges to power the thing up once a play session.
