I like DE because droids are cool, and currently I'm making enough money to at least be profiting without having to sell resources (although resources make good money too). I admit I'm not living phat like those architects and ws out there, but I got into DE because droids are neato. Another advantage is that resource quality doesn't matter, so I don't have to spend all my time looking for the best stuff. Although i don't make mad bank for each sale, I do make a higher profit per droid than an architect makes

Gotta admit though, Architect sounds cool with all of the impact that experimentation makes to the product. I'm at architect 0-0-3-0 right now, I think I'll master it someday, but then i'd be likely to drop it without making a single product. lol.

The other main thing you have to remember is that as an architect you must mine all your own resources. I make a very good living as a DE (200-300k per day) and I buy about 90% of my resources. As an architect at best you'll be selling you're products for what you could have sold the resources for, if not less. This means you must mine all you're resources to make any profit, also means very little in the way of houses and most likely some help from a friend or three (and their lots) if you want to have high productivity.
