(1) He is assuming that we are asking for droids at least as powerful as players...in other words one droid is just as strong as one player. This is the farthest from the truth because (1) we aren't asking for CL50 mega-droids, just better combat droids (maybe CL20-25 at the TOP end); and (2) the droid cert. idea would limit the best droids to the elite characters who have essentially maxxed their characters out. He is assuming that a droid that is equal to a player novice marksman will be unbalancing to a master BH/smuggler. This is just wrong.

Wrong. Many of us DO want CL50 mega droids, and see no reason to piss away our time on CL25 droids for our maximum ability. Your kind of thinking, had the Bio-Engineers followed it, would have truly jacked them over as a profession - it will do no less for us.

We should be able to, with great craftsmanship, make DL70 droids, just like there are CL70 pets. The issue of how many people ought to be able to access them is an entirely different story.

if you want pets that strong the you will require a new profession. there is no way the devs will put that kind of power into the hand of players without costing a LOT of skill points.

And still no mention of Droid Repair kits for all those "dead" droids, but pets have no problems. No mention in the Publish 6, once again.

Hey Rialia, I saw your old Droid Repair kit in the Intrepid Museum. Very ironic. (This is no joke or sarcasm; it really is in a museum)

what TH is still getting wrong, not all DEs want to be pure crafters and many people have dropped DE cause they couldnt do more than craft usless stuff. what we need is to implement Combat Droids in a way that doesnt affect the pure crafters crafting abilities if they dont use em. simply bringing in new droids work/combat to sell to everyone (max CL10) and a few DE droid abilitys for DEslike special Droids, remote control and stuff. that would affect pure crafter DEs as much as adding a new house to architect.

i would prefer to bring in the first planned changes instead of delaying it for ages cause of those people who are against changes without knowing what will be changed and how it turns out. when the changes are on TC we can discuss about but not yet.

The ironic part to all this... Droid certs would discourage dabbling like SOE wants.

I think this is naive... What happened to creatures non-CH creatures after devs dropped the max level to CL10? People stopped using CL10 creatures. I rarely see them at all anymore.

Are people now using probots instead ofCL10 creatures? Not at all.

The current state of droids is exactly the same as when the game came out. They don't decay, I don't think they are permadeath anymore, and a person can buy a single droid that will take every module the person could ever need. Once they buy it, there is no need to buy any other droids. Our future market is VERY bleak. If the devs do as you propose, there will be nothing in the future for the "crafters" to craft...soon everyone will have the droids they need, and no one will be buying them anymore. Your solution is clueless, because it doesn't matter if the crafters use combat droids at all...the lack of new non-DE combat droids is going to hurt crafters.

One of the solutions DEs have been proposing to help this problem is combat droids. The rationale is that if you diversify droid functions (crafting/healing vs. combat) and make combat droids take a beating in combat, people will have to buy at least 2 droids, one of which will get beat up in combat and have to be fixed/replaced. We don't need combat modules on current droids...that only makes the problem worse (you can STILL get everything you want on one droid). We need new combat droids that everyone can (and will) buy.

What TH is proposing is that the ONLY new combat droids that are above CL10 that are added to the game are going to be given to DEs. 65% of DEs (even ones that do want a special combat droid) have said that they didn't want this. You are in the minority, and TH is getting it wrong.
