Thread: Concerning Droid Prices
My prices are pretty much based on resource quantity, with some things rounded out for even numbers. All the prices listed are for the droid itself, then add 1k per module/personality/armor they want. ALso all prices are for non-advanced, as thats what I sell the vast majority of.
DZ70, R4, R5, and Treadwell: 3k
LE repair: 6k
Surgical: 7k
R2: 8k
Probot: 10k (includes level 6 armor)
Protocol: 10k
Binary Load Lifter: 30k
R3: 12k
Seeker: 800
Probe droid: 1200
Power Droid: 10k
Don't sell mouse droids unless I know the person and they actually want a mouse droid (not just a cheap droid), then I sell them for 2k (not going to undercut any novices).
I charge more, but the customer knows it's worth it because i have extremely high product standards, and make ONLY the best (min all +4 components) and overall deeds were at least 20%/20% (even before the patch), now it's 50%/50% (after patch)

Power droid adv, you can't afford it.
Binary Load Lifter, no.
I only make advanced models unless the plain version is requested or the person doesn't want all the service modules (very rarely happens). I'm heavily invested in factory parts, as it saves me time in assembly and I can whip out advanced droids on demand.
I don't do BLL's because I don't want to waste that much factory time on an ornament. Decorative chassis are 6k, except decoratve power and BLL, which I don't do. I don't bother with power droids unless the buyer has their own power core.
I mine my own resources, at about .6 to 1 cr/unit, I made most of my own factories and extractors (I got enough architect to be good at it, then gave it up).
I find my most profitable transactions are done on-demand, as people sometimes order droids with less than a full load of modules or tip. But even so, this pricing model gives me a modest cash growth while I maintain reasonably relaxed production schedules. I give away 5 or so batteries with each droid and a waypoint to my shop for resupply. That's the cash cow, droid batteries.
Hillslayer - at 2800 credits for a Protocol you'd probably make more money by just selling resources.
As a rule of thumb I start at 5 CPU (10 or more for rare resources)to give me an idea of what it is costing me to make the droid. I then add in additional cost if the droid requires factory made components. That just tells me my cost to make the droid. On top of that I add on a profit margin so that I'm actually making money doing this. (Otherwise, what's the point?)
I also charge a much higher flat rate for some modules - crafting stations and L6 Medical modules - because those are one-per-customer sales. Droids don't decay, so if you're selling a top-of-the-line droid to someone you will probably never see them again.
You also can't count on Droid Batteries as your bread and butter because any old Artisan can make those, and I know of several who do.
I actually got replies
I thank all of you who took the time to respond. Your ideas, thoughts, and prices were extremely helpful. I know have some idea on how to price my products. Though, at the moment, will be selling for very cheap just due to the fact that I cannot really make them very well at the moment. Just beginning.
Thanks a lot.
My prices on Ahazi are pretty close to Jenden's... slightly lower in a few cases, but that's about it. That's for the droid itself... modules are then added on top of that.
Most of the droids I sell fall between 12k and 20k fully configured.

yea, thats about why mine generally add up to, plus I give discounts on orders of 10 or more non-BH droids (I get quite a few of these and it makes people happy).

I'm where you are. That's why I have to give them away. That's the only thing to do with the garbage I make. Once I get more useful droids I'll start charging for them but for now it's give them away or hit the Practice checkbox. Now that to me is a complete waste. At least by selling them for one credit I get people to browse my vendors and give me Merchant XP.
I agree.
