Does the Dev concerned not know that different models have different slot capabilities?
It was a TH answer.
TH hasn't the first clue on how to ask a developer a question that will produce the correct answer.
TH is pretty unknowledgeble when it comes to any Droid Engineer issue and trying to get him to admit that is like trying to get a straight answer on what is intended to work and what is not.
Criticism with a bite.

So I now know (post edited)I'm afraid to say it makes me feel worse not better. That guy should not be allowed to comment on Droids, his ignorance is famously etched on my memory from the dual droid publishes...ohhh the memory
Well, can you blame him for his ignorance, in some ways? Droids are just an unimportant, unnecessary part of the game as it stands now, and haven't been updated since the dual publishes. Have any other crafting professions gone without ANY major updates to their basic set of tools... save the dual "droid" publishes which added a few quirky modules had limited functionality at the beginning, and most of the useful ones (and useful ones before the addition) have made us in a WORSE spot than we were at launch. They need to do a Droid Upgrade. Droids are Star Wars. The entirety of episode IV is initiated and moved along because of droids. I'd say in this time period, having working, useful, and necessary droids is more important than having Jedi in the game... and this is from a Jedi who ground there by crafting Binary Load Lifters.
I'm afraid, though, that if we get any new toys, we'll be worse off. That's the way it's seemed to go for the last 2 years. Every time a change is made, our droids get broken more and more.

This is why I feel it is critical at this point to actually get some developer interaction. You can't have somebody in the middle passing information who truly doesn't understand the information they are passing. I'm sorry for being idealistic, but TH and Tiggs should be experts in the game. They should be able to quote (and understand) the top issues for every single profession. It is their job to do so.
The fact that two tueseday tips in a row were on things that did not work right, listed and reported bugs, that TH nor Tiggs knew about just shows the current system is not working.
It's like we speak English, and the Developers speak English, but have a French speaker in the middle passing information. This needs fixed.
Oh I thought I'd post what they said in the Stratics chat......put your coffee down before you read this :
Brekkee - *Imaridirl* Are there any plans to ever add looted schematics for any of the more popular weapons, armor, and other items that were introduced with ROTW?
LEC_Neif - Yes, we have lots of lootable schematic items on ROTW as it is, and we will be adding more. We're watching out for the crafters, so watch for lots of cool items that are lootable schematics only.
Good to know they are watching out for us isn't it.
I also agree given their Job and responsibilities Tiggs and Thunderheart need to be far more proficient with the game and the problems the game has.....

Yes. Yes I can blame him for his ignorance, becuase it goes well beyond just being ignorant about an entire profession. 3 different Droid Engineer Correspondents have offered to help TH understand the issues that effect DE. Three different times he responded with something like...'Sure, that would be loads of help.' That was the last that Sintrosi, TK, or I heard of the matter....
To be ignorant because you haven't had the chance to learn about the issue is one thing. Being ignorant about an issue because you chose to be is something else entirely.

Droid use is considered a niche in the game. Those were words that I was quoted once, not to long ago. Droid use is one of the most Star Warsy features available in the game, yet only a small cross section of the entire game community uses a droid. Why is this?
It is because most people associated droids as being either bugged, or under powered for their needs, so they don't use them. This in turn reduces the amount of time that is spent on such things as bug fixes and updates. Its much like the self fulfulling prophecy of why TC-Prime now has so few in its community. The DEV team has reduced the numbers of people that use TC-Prime by making it so that less people what to use TC-Prime for its intended purpose.
I'm afraid, though, that if we get any new toys, we'll be worse off. That's the way it's seemed to go for the last 2 years. Every time a change is made, our droids get broken more and more.
For every 1 item that has been added to Droid Engineer, or droid use, 2 bugs have resulted.
O....K ...slow down there champ. We're starting to get a little bit too bitter at TH's answers. This whole thing with TC-Prime hasn't made things easier. Frankly, they need to lessen the restrictions on droids just a tad not tighten their grip....even in this time where they want to pigeonhole people.
(Same principal as rule by fear with a Death Star ....see, that didn't really work out either)

I was in the chat, when I read that I just shook my head. There are NO lootable or reward schematics anywhere in Kashyyyk... except for the Kashyyyk Camo Kit but thats it.

I'm sorry this part didn't come off as sarcastic as I wanted it to be.... leading into the following sentence. He's ignorant of them because he or barely anyone else uses them... they've been marginalized by their lack of utility, and thus since people don't use them, they're not important enough to update or learn about. It's a cycle, and yes, he should know. Since the "Clear-domed R2" quote, he should've made a point to learn more.

I'm not bitter at TH's answers. I'm completely frustrated at his total lack of ability to ask the proper questions and gain the proper answers. It hasbeen an on going cycle with Droid Engineer Correspondent's and TH's lack of knowledge or understanding of the issue at hand.
When I was Correspondent, the last time around, I asked a question that was given a response by TH, from one of the DEVs. The funny thing is that I asked the same question of the same DEV, through a different channel, and received a completely different answer.

I'd prefer them not to watch out for crafters...
It seems whenever they do that, more stuff gets broken then getting fixed!!!
[/sarcasm off]
Oh, but your forgot about the Crystal Knife schematic that Weaponsmiths get in the Myyydril Caverns ![]()
Yah, so many, I can't even wrap my head around how many there are
I'm seriously considering finishing all my schems of Mem and GP mods and making a ton of BH droids then sell all of my resources(millions of them) and then taking all vendors down after it all sells and respecting to a combat proffession. I will probably delete my entire stock of componets and chassis.
I think I should take advantage of combat now since that is THE focus of this game. Heck I should re-train my 16 FS boxes and go try for Jedi that I gave up so long ago to be a SW.
I'm losing my patience with crafting. I've been a crafter since Dec 2003.
